DAY IN THE LIFE

Do you love collecting and analyzing student data to drive high quality interventions? This could be the perfect role for you! The Intervention Teacher will provide both push in and pull out interventions working in close collaboration with all stakeholders including parents, students, specialists, and general education Our ideal candidate understands that strong interventions are never one size fits all but rather utilizes a variety of tools, such as NWEA and MAP data, to select and deliver strong research based intervention curriculum tailored to each students individual This role will teach a maximum of six 45 minute periods a day and have two 45 minute planning/prep periods per

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

Instruction:

  • Review and evaluate student achievement information in order to place students in appropriate academic

  • Analyze district assessment data in Reading to understand students needs in order to select and recommend evidence-based instructional interventions to

  • Collaborate with teachers and coaches for the purpose of increasing student achievement by ensuring best instructional practices are being implemented, and differentiated instruction is being used to meet the needs of every

  • Lead engaging, data-driven instruction in Reading utilizing a demonstrated knowledge of language acquisition, bilingualism, and culturally responsive pedagogy

  • Maintain the Intervention data dashboard to measure the effectiveness of programming and services in order to evaluate the impact on student ;

  • Plan and teach approximately five periods per day, as directed by the School

  • Teach daily student interventions, providing individualized instruction based on student

  • Analyze student data and use it to provide student feedback and set

  • Collaborate with other teachers, school leaders, the English Language Development Director, Director of Intervention, Director of Middle School English Language Arts, and the special education team to ensure that instruction meets the needs of each

  • Be available to students by phone every evening, Monday-Thursday, for homework assistance until 8:00

  • Lead a student advisory at the beginning and end of each school day, and serve as the main point of contact and advocate for students in an advisory of approximately 30
