Job Description

The Chief Equity and People Officer (CEPO) will lead our organization-wide strategy to ensure equity lives in all aspects of our organizational strategy, practices, and ways of This individual will support teammates, including leadership, to drive systems-level change across an organization serving approximately 5,000


The CEPO will develop and execute a cohesive organizational-wide strategy to integrate our Equity Commitments, commitment to anti-racism, and values into our practices, policies, and decision-making and lead the vision for attracting, retaining, sustaining, and developing diverse, values-aligned ;

Responsibilities

Equity Strategy

  • Lead the organization s equity strategy in collaboration with the STRIVE-wide leadership team and develop a cohesive set of initiatives that span regions and departments to advance equity goals

  • Disseminate internal data and analysis to leaders and teammates related to student achievement, college enrollment, graduation rates, student persistence, and family engagement to highlight bright spots and encourage successful practices throughout the organization, address gaps across lines of difference, and continuously improve systems and

  • Stay abreast of research/theory and best practices in Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion and anti-racism work, especially in K-12 education, professional learning, career pathways, and pipeline


Learning & Development

  • Develop and implement a clear, compelling, and inclusive onboarding process that grounds all new employees in our shared values and

  • Define and develop infrastructure and approach for the adult learning all teammates experience at various points at STRIVE to support their growth and development in delivering on our equity vision, antiracist stance, values, & equity

  • Support teammates with frameworks, tools, metrics, and progress monitoring systems to collectively deliver on elements of an equity strategy and embody anti-racist leadership and


Talent Management

Recruitment & Hiring:

  • Develop a multifaceted recruitment strategy focusing on building a strong pipeline of diverse and qualified candidates across all levels and functions of the

  • Develop strategies for targeted recruitment, hiring, and retention that support BIPOC talent to ensure our teams are reflective of the communities we

  • Provide strategic support to department leaders throughout the hiring process to ensure equitable and effective hiring Ensure that we use an anti-racist lens during all stages of the recruitment, onboarding, and evaluation

  • Cultivate State-wide strategic partnerships to support ;

  • Create pathways to ensure that staff at all levels of the organization have the opportunity to advance and that career pathways are communicated and implemented in ways that are equitable and inclusive, and supported by credentialing services as

  • Assess compensation and advancement disparities and partner with the Finance team to support equitable compensation

  • Spearhead opportunities to understand and probe teammate experiences (annual survey) and identify opportunities to improve the experiences and satisfaction of our


Human Resources

  • Incorporate an equity, anti-racist lens into all aspects of HR strategy, implementation, and communication, including onboarding, the employee life cycle, benefits, credentials, and employee

  • Communicate new and existing HR policies through various strategies such as workshops, webinars, manuals, handbooks, videos, e-mails,

  • Partner with the Data and Information Systems team to streamline processes, increase automation, and support customer

  • Address teammates concerns and complaints promptly with coaching and support for teammates and

  • Partner with external legal partners on employee matters as

Requirements

Minimum educational level

  • Bachelor s degree with equity work expertise

  • Master s degree preferred


Experience required

  • Five + years in senior leadership, including managing multiple direct reports, leading a related people-centered function, and working with a senior leadership

  • Experience in K-12 public education required; school and/or CMO/District leadership strongly preferred

  • Experience leading equity strategy development at a systems

  • Deep expertise in multiple domains of the People and Equity work includes equity strategy and leadership, employee relations, employee services, talent/ recruiting, credential services, HR, and leadership
