Job Description

The Lead DevOps and Cloud Engineer is a technical specialist who has practical hands-on experience working with numerous facets of todays Cloud and DevOps technologies. This person has technical skills and knowledge that encompass a broad array of tools and technologies, as well as modern software development processes and methodologies. The Lead Cloud and DevOps Engineer has an engineering background that spans numerous IT disciplines including, but not limited to; Software Development, IT Operations, Quality Assurance, and Networking.

This person is primarily responsible for overseeing all aspects of the Companies DevOps practice as it relates to the deployment and configuration of software artifacts produced by the Companies various software development teams. This person also plays a key role in executing the Companies Cloud Strategy, with responsibilities that include creating, maintaining, and destroying Cloud resources as needed to achieve the goals set forth by the Business. The Lead DevOps and Cloud Engineer will also be a primary point of contact for any inquiries that relate to the Companies Cloud resources or DevOps practices.

Primary Job Functions:

Deliverablesinclude,butarenotlimitedto:InformationSystemArchitecture,proof-of-concepts,

applicationintegrationandarchitecture,productionreadinessassessments,andhands-onexecution

ofengineeringtasks.

Coordinatewithotherfunctionalteamstoconfigureanddeploysoftwareartifactstooneormore

environmentsasneeded.

Troubleshootandresolvesoftwaredistributionandinstallationissues.

DeploymentandAdministrationofCloud-basedResourcesusingMicrosoftAzureandGoogleCloud

Platforms.

PerformContinuousIntegrationandDeploymentofSoftwareandApplications.UsetoolssuchasAzure

DevOpsandGithubtoperformCICDfunctionsinsupportofsoftwaredevelopmentteams.

GeneralAdministrationofthefollowingdatabaseplatforms:SQLServer,MySQL,CosmosDB,and

InfluxDB.

GeneralWindowsandLinuxServerConfiguration,Administration,andAutomation.

ApplicationPerformanceMonitoringandTroubleshooting.UsetoolssuchasAppInsights,Elasticsearch,

andDynatracetotroubleshootperformanceissuesthatmayoccur.

DevelopmentofCustomSoftwareSolutionsasrequiredfortasksassigned.

ProficientorExpertlevelexperienceinoneormoreofthefollowingprogramminglanguages;

PowerShell,Python,Bash.

Generalmonitoringofapplicationandenvironmenthealthusingvarioustools,logfiles,andresources

Requirements

Education:

Education BSinComputerScience,Engineering,orequivalentexperience

Experience:

5+yearsofpracticalDevOpsExperience

3+Yearsofhands-onCloudAdministrationExperience

5+YearsProgrammingExperiencewithoneormoreprogramminglanguages

2+YearsSystemsMonitoringExperience

Licensesor

Certifications

CloudCertifications,especiallyAzure,aplus

Knowledge,Skills

andAbilities

CloudPlatformAdministration,especiallywithMicrosoftAzure.

FunctionalProgrammingexperiencewithoneormoremodernprogramming

languagessuchas;Python,PowerShell,C#,NodeJS.

HighlyproficientwithIaCtoolssuchasTerraformandAnsible.

StrongWindowsandLinuxSystemsAdministrationandEngineering

Automationandscriptinglanguageskills

Abilitytodocumentprocesses,systems,andstandards

Must Be a US Citizen or Green Card Holder

Education: Education BS in Computer Science, Engineering, or equivalent experience Experience: 5+ years of practical DevOps Experience 3+ Years of hands-on Cloud Administration Experience 5+ Years Programming Experience with one or more programming languages 2+ Years Systems Monitoring Experience Licenses or Certifications Cloud Certifications, especially Azure, a plus Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Cloud Platform Administration, especially with Microsoft Azure. Functional Programming experience with one or more modern programming languages such as; Python, PowerShell, C#, NodeJS. Highly proficient with IaC tools such as Terraform and Ansible. Strong Windows and Linux Systems Administration and Engineering Automation and scripting language skills Ability to document processes, systems, and standards Must Be a US Citizen or Green Card Holder
