CNC Set-up Machinist

We are seeking CNC set-up machinist. This is a direct hire position, starting at $20-$25/hour, based on experience level. Summary Sets up and operates a variety of machine operations utilizing numerical control machining centers to cut, shape, or form metal work pieces to specifications by performing the following duties. Ability to setup/run Mori Seiki 2 axis CNC Lathes, Haas ST-20 2 axis CNC Lathe, Haas DS30SSY 2 axis CNC Lathe with dual spindle and w/live tooling, Brother TC-32B 4 axis Vertical Mills with trunnion table. Perform CNC machine operations working from blueprints, drawings, and work instructions. Perform quality checks using micrometers, calipers and dial gauges. Work independently using CMM report from Quality Department. Understand and operate FANUC controls, understanding of basic G & M codes, make offsets wear, & geometry adjustments. Read and understand basic part programs. Willingness to work with CNC Programmer in a team based environment and a commitment to continuous learning and improvement. Have strong understanding and use of tooling, inserts, fixtures, speed, and feed calculation formulas. Ability to hold very tight tolerances. Knowledge of how to bore out soft jaws. Select, align, and secure cutting tools, attachments, accessories, and materials on machines. Load and unload machines per established practices Work from production orders to perform designated operations. Maintain quality and quantity levels. Follow work order and blueprint instructions during machine setup. Eliminate non-value added activities. Complete routine paperwork: inspection sheets, tooling sheets, time sheets etc. Cleans machine, tooling, and parts. Performs machine maintenance. Must own all tools. Pay and Shift info Starting pay is up to $25/hour based on experience 2nd shift from 3p - 11p or 3rd shift working from 11p - 7am Training on 1st shift working from 7a-3p, with availability to work OT as needed Direct hire opportunity with the company. Skills/Qualifications 4+ year experience in Setting up CNC Mills and Lathes. High School Diploma or GED. Will be subject to a 10-panel drug screen and other pre-employment screening.
