Job Description

Our customers see the results of our efforts where it counts most at the bottom line. What is an Electrical Controls Engineer? The Electrical Controls Engineer is responsible for complete design review to support configuration of products to customer specifications, in compliance with national regulatory requirements by using thorough knowledge of design practices and good engineering concepts. The Electrical Controls Engineer also performs a variety of engineering work in design and development of manufacturing specifications for component parts and assemblies, planning, computer-aided design, testing and analysis. What Were Looking For The ideal candidate will have an Engineering or Certified Engineering Technologist Degree and be experienced with Allen-Bradley PLC programming and HMI programming. Duties and Responsibilities 1. Responsible for electrical control panel design and bills of material preparation to match drawings, electrical wiring design and bills of material preparation to match drawings and preparation and completion of equipment operating manuals. 2. Responsible for all PLC and SCADA program development and management. 3. Responsible for HMI program development and management. 4. Complete and manage Enervac product engineering and design from conception level through release for production. 5. Complete electrical project engineering and design using CAD. 6. Design and oversee the build and commissioning of the control systems for our systems, including the electrical panels, the PLC program, HMI program and specifying the necessary components. 7. Analyze data to determine feasibility of product proposal. 8. Develop bills of material, drawings and documentation to include design criteria, part numbers, assembly diagrams and standard products, etc. 9. Project component specification and sourcing. 10. Research and development for design of new Enervac products. 11. Provide training, servicing and commissioning of Enervac equipment. 12. Act as client liaison to provide support, application, technical, installation and trouble-shooting consultation with high volume account customers. 13. Project testing, certification and preparation of instruction manuals. 14. Direct maintenance of certain department technical data on component parts, customer blueprints and specifications. 15. Work with manufacturing, purchasing and sales on selecting new materials and processes for new and existing items. 16. Work with internal resources to optimize the offerings for equipment. 17. Design components within various regulatory agency requirements and Company standards. 18. Convey information on new or updated products to the involved departments and personnel. 19. Approve quality assurance reports covering the initial production of parts and products. 20. Comply with all safety procedures in each area assigned, including but not limited to, wearing protective clothing, special handling of chemicals, special handling of product, safety/rescue equipment usage, etc. 21. Interact and communicate with all levels of employees within the Company, as well as suppliers, customers and peers effectively. 22. Comply with policies, procedures, standards and rules of the Company. 23. Maintain quality assurance policy consistent with ISO standards. 24. Maintain work area in a clean, orderly and safe manner. 25. Punctual, regular and consistent attendance. 26. Perform all other job-related duties as assigned. Required Experience and Education Engineering or Certified Engineering Technologist Degree. Electrical Engineering preferred or two years engineering experience in a related industry. Two years experience with Allen-Bradley PLC programming and HMI programming preferred. Experience in oil or gas processing, piping/systems design, fabrication and project installation preferred. Familiar with both 2D and 3D CAD systems. Strong interpersonal skills with listening, consultative and problem-solving skills. Self-directed with ability to prioritize and work with minimal supervision. Ability to apply product knowledge and past experience to make independent decisions. Ability to function and thrive in a team environment with an appreciation of aggressive goals. Technical sales experience a plus. Proficient in MS Office products. Proficient in Bill of Material preparation. Able to read, write, and follow verbal instructions in Standard English. Physical and Technical Environment Minimal lifting up to 25 pounds occasionally. Must be able to sit, stand, walk, reach with hands and arms, bend and stoop in a normal office environment. Ability to routinely travel throughout multi-floor office and shop area, walking, climbing stairs. Clean and orderly manufacturing environment and/or normal office conditions.
