Responsibility:Under the supervision of the Laboratory Director/Supervisor, performs a variety of complicated technical assignments with minimal supervision. Tasks and objectives assigned are broadly outlined, frequently requiring unique or special abilities and/or training. Plans own approaches and progressive stages of work to accomplish desired results. With required education and experience, supervises the activities of other technical staff and laboratory processes.
Essential Job Functions:Triage Responsible for the initial management of specimens of all age groups and assigning priorities of care in accordance with triage standards.
Policy/Procedure:Proficiency Demonstrates proficiency and all testing procedures/policies according to Standard Operating Procedure Manual (SOPM).
Resolutions Demonstrates the ability to identify and evaluate appropriate action to resolve problems (including contacts with service hot lines and representatives). Performs and evaluates QA/QC.

A Med Tech that is able to perform Phlebotomy responsibilities is a plus.
Preferred:One year experience performing the duties of a Clinical Laboratory Technologist
Ability to interpret results and clinical significance of test findings. Demonstrated ability to handle confidential information with discretion and ability to deal with the public in a professional and courteous manner. Ability to meet deadlines, manage multiple priorities and enhance the spirit of teamwork through effective role modeling. Excellent interpersonal, communication and organization skills. Computer literacy Preferred: Experience with Microsoft Office products and electronic medical record
Population Specific Requirements:The staff member must demonstrate the knowledge and skills necessary to provide care appropriate to the age of the patients served on his or her assigned unit. The individual must demonstrate knowledge of the principles of growth and development of the life span and possess the ability to assess data reflective of the patients status and interpret the appropriate information needed to identify each patients requirements relative to his or her age-specific needs, and to provide the care needed by pediatric, adolescent, adult and geriatric patient group.
Exposure Control:Occupational exposure to blood borne pathogens is reasonably anticipated. Required tasks involve a potential contact with blood, body fluids, tissues.
Full Time
