Job Description

Join a Cleantech 50 to Watch start up and work to reverse climate change.
We are seeking a full time Senior Sales Manager (m/f/x) to drive sales of our carbon negative materials, and form strategic commercial partnerships. This is a pivotal role in a fast-growing company working at the intersection of material science and carbon capture.

Made of Air is a climate-focused materials company transforming waste biomass into high-value, carbon negative, thermoplastic materials for industrial use.
Our materials replace fossil plastics in manufactured products. Composed of carbon sequestered from the atmosphere, the materials permanently remove CO2 and are thermoformed by standard industrial processes to meet numerous building and consumer product applications. Storing carbon in products enables manufactured goods to become an engineered carbon sink.

How you ll make a difference:
As Senior Sales Manager, you will be responsible for achieving and exceeding sales goals to grow Made of Air s revenue through selling carbon negative materials to consumer brands and manufacturers. Working closely with the CEO, you will be responsible for converting the company s pipeline into its first recurring sales.

What you will be doing:

Sales Development

  • Develop and implement sales messaging including unique value proposition, the elevator pitch and product differentiation in the market.
  • Create a Sales Playbook, including a repeatable and consistent sales process.
  • Initiate new customers acquisition through continuous visits, trade fair contacts, marketing actions and active networking.
  • Develop outbound lead generation strategies and proactively execute them.
  • Help build and recruit the company s first sales team

Execution

  • Be out there with customers, actively establishing and maintaining contact, listening to their pain points and identifying opportunities.
  • Convert existing pipeline into company s first recurring revenues
  • Qualify and execute existing leads in the pipeline
  • Achieve ambitious sales targets as prescribed by the company s commercial strategy.
  • Relentlessly talk to potential customers in order to feedback core insights and findings to the product, marketing and engineering teams

Sales Management

  • Own the relationship between the company and the customer, ensuring efficient alignment of all efforts to maximise impact of all activities driving growth.
  • Focus on highest value opportunities to grow and develop new business including the adoption of new technologies.
  • Collaborate with R&D, product development, production and BD teams.
  • Follow up on sales activities, customer analysis, proposal generation, price and contract negotiations.
  • Provide customer and market feedback, monitor, analyze and evaluate market opportunities

We re looking for:*

  • B2B sales experience
  • Experience in commercial roles: sales, business development, accounts management, revenue management and bringing products to market, preferably in the built environment or materials industries
  • Experience in structuring and negotiating sales/offtake agreements with distributors or other partners
  • Excellent listening, communication, analytical and negotiation skills
  • An entrepreneurial spirit with an always closing mindset
  • Proactive instinct to be close to customers, initiating and maintaining the relationship
  • Familiarity with the sales process for industrial materials
  • Working well under pressure, with a high degree of adaptability and flexibility in a fast paced, rapidly changing environment
  • Excellent analytical skills and intuition for business. Passionate about framing business questions with data, translating customer needs into strategies, and carrying out tactics and process improvements.
  • Excellent organizational and time-management skills
  • Enthusiasm and positive energy applied to a climate mission
  • University degree in business administration, sales or marketing; engineering degree a plus
  • English at a business level both spoken and written
