Graftek Imaging, Inc. is an Austin, TX based technology company that provides solutions for the industrial machine vision and scientific imaging markets. We are looking for an experienced Automation Design Engineer to grow our team.

We are looking for a highly motivated person to fill the position of Product Support Engineer. The position is for full-time and is Salary. Description

The Support Technician providesassistancetoGraftek developers,sales personnel,andcustomersto investigate and demonstrate machine vision capabilities for customer samples, install and support existing machine vision systems in the field/remotely, and assemble and troubleshoot hardware/software vision systems. This role is primarily responsible forensuring that Graftekproducts and services are professionally supported.



Responsibilities

Provides customer support, manufacturing/lab test technician and IT support for Graftek vision systems:

  • Provides technical support for internal Graftek vision system test operations, including computer systems
  • Construct hardware fixtures, computer systems and electrical components
  • Troubleshoot hardware and software systems
  • Help customers solve technical issues
  • Communicating customer needs and wishes to our sales and engineering staff
  • Taking ownership of technical issues, and working with our Development group to resolve more advanced issues when necessary
  • Resolving escalated customer complaints without the need for team lead intervention
  • Participation in providing training to customers as required
  • Perform pre-release functional testing of all systems shipped by Graftek.
  • Create documentation for all results of testing systems
  • Troubleshoot Graftek products using electrical schematics, as needed
  • Develop working knowledge of cameras, lighting and optics used in vision systems

Support may be provided by email, phone, remote login, or onsite at a customers location.

Some Travel is Required for this position to client facilities.

Qualifications

Required

  • Associate Degree in technical field
  • Experience constructing or troubleshooting electrical systems
  • Experience using hand and power tools
  • Personable, approachable demeanor
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills
  • Excellent Microsoft Windows troubleshooting ability
  • Excellent telephone skills
  • Excellent organizational skills
  • Excellent time management skills including ability to multi-task numerous active support issues
  • Ability to understand technical specifications
  • Basic understanding of electrical systems or principles (voltage, resistance, etc.)
  • Experience constructing, upgrading or repairing computers and an understanding of the internal components in a PC
  • Ability to understand customer needs and identify critical information from support requests

Desired

  • Experience supporting technical products
  • Experience with machine vision technologies (cameras, optics, lighting, etc..)
  • LabVIEW Experience
  • Experience with software testing
  • Experience with lab equipment like pulse generators and oscilloscopes
