Job Description

Genesis Consulting has an immediate opportunity for an experienced, forward thinking PMO Business Analyst with a passion for growth and business transformation. Duties and Responsibilities:

The consultant will support the Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT) PALM System Transition (FPST) Program is the Department s multi-year effort to transform financial related business processes to enable the adoption of the Florida PALM Standardized Business Process Models, transition to the Florida PALM Chart of Accounts, and modify existing computing assets to complete the FDOT transition to the Florida PALM PeopleSoft solution. The FPST Program will also ensure that over 1,000 Florida PALM-impacted computing assets are successfully transitioned from legacy Florida Accounting Information Resource (FLAIR) interfaces to modernized Florida PALM interfaces. The Florida PALM-impacted computing assets are vital to the daily financial operations of the department in the development and delivery of the approximately $50 billion of future commitments for the Five-Year Work Program. Duties and responsibilities include but may not be limited to:

  • Support the overall governance and project management of the program.
  • Support the team in guidance on project processes, tools, collaboration, and documentation requirements.
  • Applying administrative, consultative, and technical expertise in fulfillment of FPST assigned work steams.
  • Planning, organizing, executing, and controlling assigned project tasks in successful delivery of work products and/or readiness workplan milestones.
  • Mentor FPST project team staff and subject matter experts with business process analysis approaches, system development methodologies, and traceability management techniques.
  • Coordinate business process transformation and data analysis sessions with the Business Analysts, Functional Coordinators, and Subject Matter Experts (SME) in collaboration with the FPST Technical Liaisons and technical support personnel.
  • Identify additional opportunities for Functional and Technical Subject Matter Expert engagement in the definition of detail functional and technical requirements, specification of data conversion rules, and data cleansing activities.
  • Drive the day-to-day meetings of the Business and Technical Analysts, Functional Coordinators, and SMEs to ensure the appropriate level of documentation is being collected to address business rules and meet the business requirements for the Departments transition to the Florida PALM PeopleSoft Solution.
  • Document and coordinate resolution of parking lot items from Business and Technical Analyst, Functional Coordinator, and SME work sessions.
  • Interfacing with FPST team members on a day-to-day basis to ensure timely delivery of project tasks and milestones.
  • Applying a broad set of management skills and technical expertise in a project coordination role
  • Providing knowledge transfer approaches for configuration and migration to the Florida PALM solution.
  • Support Project Manager with PMO activities including Project planning, metrics/status reporting, project budgeting, resource management, risk and issue management, contract management, and quality assurance.
  • Utilize job aids, templates, tools, and procedures, and directly assist in tracking and reporting daily and weekly production
  • Support the administrative needs of executives, including calendar management, scheduling, communications, printing, and other ad hoc, general office support tasks
  • Facilitate meetings and workshops, create a shared understanding with stakeholders, and engage team-members without using reams of paper or electronic documents


Requirements

Minimum Qualifications/Experience:

  • Minimum of five (5) years experience in duties associated with the Consultant positions.
  • Experience in understanding technological trends and uses this knowledge to bring solutions to business units supported to enhance the enterprise s competitive edge
    Experience in verbal and written communications to convey progress and results of analysis
  • Skilled in the use of ERP business solutions and configuration of multiple ERP modules, such as Oracle PeopleSoft s financial management software.
  • Experience with PMO support for status reporting, deliverable management, quality assurance and risk/issue management
  • Background and competency in requirements development, analysis, independent verification, and validation
  • Knowledge of agile, milestone planning, project schedule management
  • Demonstrated experience with communication and collaboration tools.
  • Ability to interact effectively with multidisciplinary teams of program management and system design professionals including Executives, Program leads, Functional Experts, and Technical Experts.


Minimum Education:

  • Bachelor s Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Business Administration, or another related field.


Required Certifications:

  • None required

  • US Citizenship preferred. Must be a Green Card holder at minimum.
  • Candidate must be able to pass a Level II background check including fingerprinting.
  • All work is performed on-site in Tallahassee, FL.
