Customer Transportation Planner

Summary:

The Customer Transportation Planner s primary responsibility is to oversee the routing and delivery of customer purchase orders.

In This Role, You'll Have The Opportunity To:

• Understand customer order fulfillment requirements and disseminate that information through organization and external warehouses as necessary
• Utilize customer forms or websites to plan the transport of orders
• Primary contact for overseas factory direct purchase orders
• Manage purchase orders and customer sales orders using Enterprise Resource System SAP
• Analyze customer requirements and report that information to stakeholders
• Analyze large customer data files in Microsoft Excel to gather and distribute information pertaining to orders
• Tracking of orders in various modes of shipment
• Resolve problems with carriers, including re-routing and traffic problem ticketing
• Billing customers manually if required
• Communicate problems with orders to Customer Service
• Engages in continuous improvement efforts
• Performs such individual assignments as management may direct.
• Establishes and maintains effective work relationships within the company

• Critical thinking & problem solving are a must for this position
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Detail oriented with an emphasis placed on accuracy
• Ability to adapt to change, develop and train and/or learn new processes
• Ability to utilize a PC, including advanced skills in Microsoft Word, Excel, & Outlook, and Internet Explorer
• SAP system experience preferred

Education and Experience:

• Minimum 2 Years in Shipping/Traffic/Transportation relevant industry
• Transportation certifications or college coursework in logistics or supply chain preferred

Physical Requirements:

• This position requires the ability to sit for long periods of time, as well as moderate mobility on a daily basis. Additionally, this position requires the ability to move within/between departments and facilities.
• This position requires the ability to review items closely.
• This position requires pushing, pulling, lifting, moving and/or carrying up to 25 pounds.
• This position requires hand and finger dexterity.
