Job Description

Job Statement: We are looking for a field engineer who enjoys working on a broad range of platforms to include but not limited to VoIP, Networking, Surveillance and Disaster Recovery. We strive to provide excellent customer service to our diverse Managed IT and VoIP clients. ICS offers an environment for our employees to contribute and further their career by providing training on the latest products and services.

Essential Job Functions

  • Troubleshoot IT, LAN, WAN and VoIP issues for ICS customers.
  • Replace hardware or finish projects that require on-site personnel and cannot be done remotely.
  • Install PCs, servers, VoIP phones, and DR units at the customer s office.
  • Properly document and backup installed solutions in IT Glue and Cloudshare.
  • Regularly visit Managed IT customers to ensure they are happy with service and there are no follow-up items that have not been turned into the help desk.
  • Service ICS auxiliary products including but not limited to Video Surveillance, Access Control and Video Conferencing.
  • Job also includes physical work of mounting systems, structured cabling, laying out phones and loading software on desktops.
  • Support all hardware and software issues.


Requirements


Qualifications

  • Minimum 2-3 years experience supporting some form of VoIP or phone system.

  • Working knowledge of VLANs, Virtualization, Windows OS and Linux.

  • Preferred BS Degree.

  • Working knowledge of Windows Server, Exchange and AD.

  • Working knowledge or routers, switches and firewall.

Required Job Skills

  • Excellent problem solver, self-motivated, attentive to detail and works well in a team environment.

  • Ability to amiably assist non-expert end users.

  • Ability to multitask in a fast pace environment.

  • Effectively communicate oral and written with management and internal staff members.

  • Ability to access data from company secured and monitored systems.
Work Environment and Physical Demands: The work environment and physical demands described here are representative of those required by an employee to perform the essential functions of this job with or without reasonable accommodations.

Work Environment


Since ICS installs systems at customer locations, the work environment will vary from standard office environments to industrial type locations with all other variations included. Work will require travel to client sites that have exposures to excessive noise or adverse environment issues. Requires local travel via company supplied transportation means and may require occasional overnight travel to other cities, states, countries as requested.

  • Sit, Stand, Walk and Drive.

  • Mount, cable and physically install servers and phones.

  • Manipulate, handle, reach, use and to feel, and control items or equipment.

  • Able to read, write and interpret written documents.
  • Clearly communicate/speak/hear effectively with clients and coworkers
  • Ability to observe an area that can be seen up, down, left and right while eyes are fixed on a given point, as well as, process written and other material visually.
