Job Description

At Synera, our QA Engineers mission is to ensure that their team is always thinking about quality, while working on their big goals. We believe that your passion & desire to learn are far more important than a specific tech stack. Your war cry is 'Automate all the things' since you are enthusiastic about test automation and convinced that some (testing) things are better left for the computer to do. If you re a curious fast-learner, who is not afraid of taking responsibility for releasing new features - let s talk!

Tasks

You will join our Programming Penguins team to become the essential link between the quality and strategic decisions of the whole company. You will be responsible for implementing test automation for the web applications and testing our new developments for the cloud licensing solutions. Together with Mark, you will improve the QA processes for the whole company.

We are always curious and like to explore new technologies. Your current tech stack is not the most important thing for us, as long as you are excited about learning new things! So, if you are passionate about shaping the future with your awesome testing skills - prepare for an awesome ride and lots of Pizza !

What a week at Synera could look like:

  • You participate in daily stand-up meetings to share information about what you're doing.
  • You take part in backlog refinement and sprint planning meetings to understand user stories and requirements.
  • In Sprint Review meetings you validate acceptance criteria.
  • Afterwards, you write automated tests for the acceptance criteria.
  • You investigate potential bugs reported internally or externally.
  • After the Sprint Review, you ship new features to production.
  • You constantly monitor and validate data pipelines and the services in our Kubernetes cluster.
  • Together with your teammates, you take the initiative to learn new stuff.

Requirements

Even if you don't meet this criteria perfectly but believe you have lots to bring to the role, we encourage you to apply. We know it's tough, but please keep in mind that you don't have to match all the listed requirements exactly to be considered for this role.

  • Demonstrated experience in testing methodologies, experience with the standard QA and development tools.
  • Experience with Selenium Webdriver or similar tools for test automation.
  • Programming skills with at least one high level/script language (e.g. Python or JavaScript).
  • Ability to understand requirements and acceptance criteria from the stakeholders.
  • Designing, improving, and executing test scenarios for new and existing functionality.
  • Ability to investigate, identify, and reproduce complex issues reported by users.
  • Comfortable in working with Linux and Containers.
  • If you have experience with DevOps, CI/CD and or CAD / Simulation software (in the cloud), you will impress us even more.

Benefits

  • Being part of a team of engineering experts working collaboratively to gain new knowledge and skills whilst improving and learning together.
  • You will take on a high level of responsibility right from the start.
  • We don't believe in one-fits-all solutions and therefore let you decide when & where to work (as long as you have a residency in Germany).
  • Need time to recharge your batteries? No problem - talk to your team and take as much time off as you like. We don't count your vacation days as we trust in all our team members to decide what's best for them and the company.
  • Flexible public holidays, swap days off according to your values and beliefs.
  • In case you'll work remotely, we'll help you get set up at home and invite you to come and visit Bremen from time-to-time.
  • Spend time together with your colleagues during regular team events, virtual coffee breaks or spontaneous afterworks :-) For summer & Christmas we usually get together with the whole company to spend 2-3 days somewhere nice!
  • Use your yearly budget of 2.000 or buy interesting books with our business account to develop yourself. You ll also have the chance to grow together with us!

P.S. Synera is a place where everyone can grow. So however you identify and whatever background you bring with you, please apply if this is a role that would make you excited to come into work every day and be prepared to share with us how your perspective will bring something unique and valuable to our product teams.

Synera is a connected engineering platform that accelerates product development by a factor of ten, as proven by numerous customers in the automotive, aerospace and consumer goods industries such as Airbus, BMW, EDAG and Miele. We achieve this by integrating all relevant data, tools and expert knowledge into a low-code environment where engineers can store, share and reuse their work.

We change the way product development works and are looking for a full time QA Engineer (m/f/d). Do you want to join?
