Job Title: Business Analyst IT III (Senior)-Remote
Provides support for assigned business process and/or system within a business unit which includes the following:
- Maintains, monitors, updates assigned business process and/or system
- Researches complex problems and acts independently to resolve
- Analyzes existing business process and or systems and determines technical or procedural improvements and implements changes
- Develops and provides documentation for users and training purposes
- Develops operational procedures for products, services and systems supported.
- Designs processes to meet regulatory requirements.
- Develops and generates specialized and ad hoc reports.
- Analyzes reports and makes recommendations for improvements in processes and /or systems.
- Provides technical support to business unit, customers, management and other users.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Work with the BMO team and departmental managers to create a prioritized list of reporting needs within Infrastructure
- Elicit and analyze BMO needs and translate / document information into reporting requirements
- Import and build small databases for data mining
- Acquire data from primary and / or secondary data sources and maintain databases
- Use statistical methods to interpret data, analyze results, and provide ongoing reporting
- Use data to create models that depict trends in portfolio financials and operational effectiveness
- Run database queries in order to support data validation within reports
- Filter and "clean" data to locate and correct code problems
- Identify and recommend new ways to meet the BMO and Infrastructure reporting
- Facilitate meetings to review data findings and metrics
- Develop and update documentation to support new / changes to procedures
- Develop, generate, maintain and monitor reports and files
- Consolidate and create monthly decks providing operational metrics and key messages
- Works under significant supervision of a BMO Solution Delivery Manager
Requirements:
- Financial knowledge and aptitude
- Ability to effectively use Microsoft Office products to drive data analytics, reporting and financial results
- Proficient with elaborate / complex MS Excel spreadsheets (e.g. formulas, pivot tables, graphs, etc.) (Must have advanced powerpoint and Excel skills)
- Ability to schedule and negotiate with end-users to achieve desired results
- Experience communicating with senior and executive management is a plus
- Technical expertise regarding data models, database design, development, data mining and segmentation techniques
- Knowledge of and experience with databases (SQL, etc.)
- Knowledge of statistics and experience analyzing datasets
- Ability to collect, organize, analyze, and disseminate information with strong attention to detail and accuracy
- Adept at queries, report creation and presenting findings
