Principal Duties:
Job Summary
We are looking for Cloud Engineer who will be working on security and automation on VMware and cloud platform.
The cloud Engineer will be part of a team of experienced individuals, to perform tasks of creating and maintaining the new cloud infrastructure, supporting multiple datacenters on our cloud initiative. Your job will be to build and support both production and non-production environments. You will lead the project and follow the ideas, requirements and company mission into making the cloud jump a reality.
General task :
- Experience working with cloud provider automation tools such as Terraform
- Identify security vulnerabilities and control gaps using Skyline, Runecast and any other tool at your disposal
- Provide actionable and practical mitigations to address security vulnerabilities
- Analyze externally reported vulnerabilities
- Conduct vulnerability assessment
- Familiar with CVEs and reports of vulnerabilities
- Opensource vulnerability assessment
- Ensure we are compliant throughout the virtual environment infrastructure (VMWare line of products: Horizon View products, vSphere products used in the environment) and hardware/software levels
- Review and attend to the multiple notifications and alerts by email and/or monitoring portals
- Pro-actively checking the LOGs (VMWare LOG insight, Horizon View, vSphere ESXi and vCenter) and enhance LOG monitoring for any new known or unknown errors and research solutions
- Have a general knowledge of server technologies, and network and enterprise storage technologies.
- Excellent people skills with ability to handle difficult personnel situations.
- Must be able to communicate effectively with technical and non-technical audiences.
- Must be a self-starter with the ability to work independently and in a collaborative team environment
- Must be able to manage your time effectively and shuffle things around respecting priorities.
- Must be able to adapt and be flexible with ad-hoc and scheduled requests given by the environment needs.
- Problem-solving and delegation skills to be able to delegate requests to the proper department and personnel.
- Must be able to document changes, update documentation, create and validate guides and runbooks, perform data-entry using portals and web sites.
- Must be able to create and generate reports using the different systems available., monitor systems and respond to.
- Must be pro-active, when identifying issues by accessing monitoring systems, responding to alerts and email notifications/communication.
- Must be willing to participate on a off-hours/on-call support rotation to support business needs, which require corporate phone and laptop availability.
- Must understand we work for a 24/7 hospital network, where emergencies can happen at any time and your attendance might be needed.
