Insights Engineer

This role will be responsible for guiding a business question through conception to answer. You will be focused on one or more platforms and work directly with platform owners to provide data-driven, actionable insights. Your main tasks will include: performing detailed requirements analysis, implementing tagging code to support requests, crafting powerful reports to deliver answers, ad hoc analysis and bug-fixes, documenting processes, working cross-functionally with multiple groups and performing user acceptance testing. To succeed in this role, you should have strong organizational skills, an analytical mindset, and an ability to communicate difficult concepts to non-technical stakeholders. IE Responsibilities:Evaluate business features, gather reporting requirements, and uncover areas for improvementResponsible for developing, maintaining, and managing advanced reporting, analytics, dashboards and other BI solutionsAd Hoc Support proficient in SQL (AWS Athena)Perform ongoing reviews of requirements, roadmaps, and developing optimization strategiesManage expectations with stakeholders and balance competing prioritiesWork with multiple groups to identify metrics then determine and prioritize work into a backlog based on business needs and requirementsEffectively communicate your insights and plans to cross-functional team members and managementGather critical information from meetings with various stakeholders to create actionable improvements to analyticsEnsure solutions meet business needs and requirements by testing and coordinating with testing group for high-quality implementationsManage multiple projects, developing plans for future state, and monitoring performance of current reporting and servicesUpdate, implement, and maintain procedures to support your assigned stakeholder teamsMonitor deliverables and ensure timely completion of projectsDesign and develop tags for implementation by front end teams for reportingAssist in investigation of production bugs for root cause analysis IE Requirements:Preferred: Code development skills, experience with YAML, or experience with SDLC, SQL (HIVE/AWS Athena/EMR)A solid understanding of SQL, relational databases, and normalizationProficiency in use of query and reporting analysis tools: Tableau, Pivot, Kibana or similarNice to Have: Git, ElasticSearch, or data mining experienceRequired Skills : Strong SQL or HQL don t use ETL tools, do all ETL from scratch AWS Hadoop OR Hive (migrating form Hadoop to AWS this experience is very helpful) Tableau Any scripting (python, bash, shell, etc)Basic Qualification : Additional Skills : Background Check :YesNotes :50% remote, 50% onsite in any of the following cities (Denver, CO; St. Louis, MO; Charlotte, NC; Dallas, TX; Madison, WI; Stamford, CT) *Can be remote for first 2-3 months while relocating*Selling points for candidate :Project Verification Info :yes Candidate must be your W2 Employee :YesExclusive to Apex :NoFace to face interview required :NoCandidate must be local :NoCandidate must be authorized to work without sponsorship ::NoInterview times set : :NoType of project :Assessment/AnalysisMaster Job Title :Data AnalystBranch Code :Denver
