I'm John, Head of Research & Development, at VoltStorage GmbH, a Munich-based start-up with currently 54 employees. In 2016, Michael, Jakob and Felix founded VoltStorage. Our vision was and is to make renewable energy available 24/7 to enable a green, sustainable and fair future. As an expert for stationary flow batteries, we want to cover all application areas of stationary battery storage with our multi-technological approach and thus make an important contribution to the energy transition. To boost our big project I am currently looking for a

Full-time Intern (gn) battery development.

You will support our world-class R&D team in the development process of our iron salt batteries (ISB). In doing so, you will take on important tasks in the lab, such as building and testing batteries, formulating electrolytes, and contributing to the optimization of the ISB state maintenance systems.

Tasks

You are a perfect fit for us if you can imagine the following tasks in the future:

  • Researching and evaluating new materials and techniques in the field of IPM
  • Formulation of battery electrolytes
  • Construction and testing of ISB test cells
  • Evaluation and documentation of experiments and tests using various measurement methods
  • Operation, maintenance and improvement of IPM condition maintenance equipment.
  • Participate and assist in the operation of various analytical instruments in the laboratory.

Requirements

  • Make sure to convince us about yourself, even if you bring other suitable experiences and skills than the following:
  • Current degree in chemical engineering, electrochemistry, chemistry, physics or materials science.
  • Basic knowledge of analytical chemistry, chemical processes, and initial hands-on experience with laboratory work desirable
  • Interest in the topic of sustainable energy supply
  • Very good knowledge of English
