Job Description

Role : Lead DevOps Engineer

Location : Philadelphia

Duration : 6+ months

Job Description:

  • IBC is seeking experienced and flexible DevOps Engineer. The ideal candidate believes in exploring alternatives and quickly prototyping to validate hypothetical architectures or solutions. The ideal candidate is passionate about the concept of infrastructure as code and leverages modern tools to define, build and manage virtual infrastructure.
  • Will significantly contribute to the development of custom software components and integration of open source code technology with automated CI/CD pipelines. Design and implement core architecture and capabilities for software from prototype to operational applications. Must understand software engineering fundamentals, OO programming, relational databases, scripting knowledge and a basic level of development operations (DevOps) skill set. Apply experience working within an Agile software development life cycle, including requirements creation, sprint planning, and grooming, etc.

Skills and Qualifications:

  • Minimum 9+ years' experience in DevOps Engineering and Software Development.
  • Experience with Windows/Linux systems, CI/CD tools for .Net and Java (Jenkins and VSTS/Azure DevOps), automation and containerization tools.
  • Experience with with various languages (Bash, C#, Javascript, Powershell, Python, and VB. JQuery a plus).
  • Experience using Source Code Management systems. Bitbucket (Stash/Git) and VSTS experience preferred.
  • Solid understanding of AGILE software development methodologies and use of a standard software development tool suite.
  • Basic TCP/IP networking knowledge including DNS, routing, and subnets.
  • Understanding of security hardening concepts including encryption, firewalls, and proxies.
  • Experience with F5 load balancers is a plus.
  • Strong organizational skills and ability to prioritize, escalate, and communicate issues.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal guidance with attention to detail and follow-up.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Ensure CI/CD implementations are based on Configuration-as-Code and Pipeline-as-Code strategies.
  • Provide administration and maintenance (system availability, performance, capacity, etc.) of the established CI/CD pipelines.
  • Work with development and infrastructure administration teams to design improved deployment, provisioning and integration workflows.
  • Design and deploy application infrastructures comprising of complex systems and services.
  • Participate in on-call shifts and off-hours maintenance when necessary.
  • Research new technologies that offer opportunities to enhance and improve the DevOps platforms.
  • Interface with management, their own and cross-functional technical teams, and periodically interacts with third party vendors.
