Job Description

WORK LOCATION: Berlin or remotely within Germany

DIRECT REPORT: Head of Controlling

FULL-TIME

WHAT YOU WILL DO

Operation Controlling is a focus subarea of the Controlling team. The focus is on the intersections between the specialist areas and the area of influence on the company as a whole. The aim is to control and advise specialist departments in the context of corporate strategy, productivity and cost efficiency.

Specifically, the primary responsibilities of the future position holder include:

  • Business sparring (sparring for the business units in understanding and managing financial results from the monthly financial statements and the budget)
  • Being representative of the controlling team for operational issues
  • Business partner for up to 3 departments
  • Collaboration in the month-end closing process
  • Cost Controlling of the departments (e.g. Marketing, Sales, Logistics, SCM)
  • Intercompany pricing reconciliations
  • Further development of contribution margin accounting
  • Further development of cost center accounting
  • Profit center analyses
  • Calculate and accompany cost reduction measures
  • Calculate and support profitability programs

WHAT YOU BRING IN

  • A university degree in business administration (university, FH, BA) ideally with a focus on controlling or finance.
  • At least 5 years of professional experience in controlling or finance in a medium-sized company structure or a start-up.
  • A keen awareness of and interest in the operational success factors of the business as well as the corresponding processes and constraints
  • Ability to recognize important interrelationships between specialist areas and to move efficiently within them, as well as to drive forward change processes
  • High interpersonal and communication skills with the strong level of assertiveness
  • Data driven mentality
  • Quick grasp of many new topics
  • Interest and willingness to familiarize yourself with the management models of the specialist departments
  • Ability to quickly convert requirements into independent results
  • Sufficient analytical and deductive skills to establish modern, agile and, above all, digital commercial systems
  • Bringing creative processes to a result in a consistent and goal-oriented manner.
  • Knowledge in the use of common ERP systems is required
  • Fluent English skills
