We have an excellent and challenging opportunity for a Labor & Employment Paralegal with 2-5 years of experience in the Ohio workers compensation industry, preferably with defense/employer representation.
Duties to include
- General case maintenance for large & small matters
- Preparing files for administrative hearings before the Industrial Commission of Ohio
- Drafting IME (Independent Medical Exam) letters to physicians for examinations
- Requesting and reviewing medical records, scheduling examinations and depositions, obtaining evidence, preparing correspondence to clients, physicians, and opposing counsel, drafting settlement agreements, preparing pleadings (including appeals to Common Pleas Court, Answers to Complaints, Disclosures, Depositions, and Discovery requests and responses), and Trial Preparation.
Successful candidates will be organized, self-motivated, possess excellent communication (both written & oral) skills & have proficient technical skills.
General litigation experience is a plus.
A Bachelors degree and a Paralegal certificate from an ABA accredited school is preferred.
