Mechanical Assembler/Solderer Direct Hire8: 00am-4: 00pm, Monday through Friday SUMMARY: We are in search of a Mechanical Assembler/Solderer to add to our team. This person will be responsible for circuit board rework/repair, assemble/modify wire cables and wire harnesses along with building of electronic and mechanical assemblies and subassemblies at times with the application and/or removal of conformal coast to circuit boards to achieve a quality finished product that meet company procedures and FAA guidelines for aerospace technology. Ensure that all parts and products are in proper working order and meet the quality standards of the company and industry. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
Perform work utilizing released assembly drawing documents and work instructions.
Set up and operate typical production tools and test equipment such as but not limited to torque wrenches, wire cutters, strippers, and crimpers as well as power supplies, Multi Meters, and measuring tools such as rulers and digital calipers.
Organizes work traveler and parts lists, sorting parts, subassemblies, tools, and materials.
Soldering and de-soldering SMT integrated circuit parts and through-hole parts on PCBs.
Resolve assembly problems to meet specifications; notifying supervisor to obtain additional resources.
Maintain a clean and safe workspace.
Ability to use thinking and reasoning to troubleshoot problems both mechanical and electrical.
EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:
High school diploma or equivalent required. Three years of experience in production environment. Minimum three years experience soldering electronic components.
SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
Through-hole and surface mount soldering skills.
Soldering with the use of a microscope.
Ability to read, write and communicate in English.
Ability to work within a team as a team.
Basic computer skills.
Work independently, interpret assembly drawings and follow verbal/written work instructions to produce a high quality product within the allotted time frame.
Familiarity with the use of test equipment such as temperature chambers, signal generators, spectrum analyzers, and oscilloscopes.
Ability to read, understand, and comply with written design process requirements.
Self-driven, methodical thinker, able to excel with minimal supervision.
Strong written and verbal communication skills including ability to present technical information in team environment.
Troubleshoot electronic systems, components, and circuitry for use in aircraft environment.
Rework and repair experience.
Certified to or be able to be certified to IPC J-STD-001.
Mechanical assembly skills.
Comprehension of basic Quality Assurance Systems.
Comprehension of basic configuration management principles.
Strong MS Office skills.
Strong computer skills, including the ability to quickly learn a variety of software s.
Experience in an FAA Part 21 production or Part 145 repair station environment.
Experience with ISO9001 or AS 9100 Quality Management Systems.
Experience using SolidWorks PDM.
May be required to handle hazardous waste and follow proper safety procedure for storage and disposal.
