Job Description

You will be responsible to lead a team of electrical engineers in charge of the electronic design for high volume manufacturing, high quality and harsh environment, of High Voltage Power Electronics products. Your tasks will consist of rolling out the Bill of Design on all the projects led out of your team, providing technical leadership to your team, providing clear and concise reports to high management on a regular basis, and maintaining a close interaction with other electrical design groups within the BorgWarner PowerDrive Systems organization in Europe. The role will be based in N rnberg.

You will work on latest state of the art 800V SiC and 400V Si / SiC Inverters for Battery Electric Vehicles and Plug-in Hybrid Vehicles for the eMobility market.

Tasks

  • Lead and motivate a team of engineers working on control boards and power boards for HV inverters
  • Provide technical guidance and leadership to all engineers in the team.
  • Ensure that all products are developed in accordance with BorgWarner s Electrical Bill of Design
  • Provide feedback and share lessons learnt with other BorgWarner s sites across different regions
  • Maintain a clear and accurate resource plan

Requirements

  • University degree in Electrical Engineering Masters
  • At least 5 years of experience as an Electrical Design Engineer in Power Electronics
  • Analytical ability and attention to details
  • Experienced with Functional Safety ISO26262 and FMEDA
  • Experience within effective problem solving methodologies
  • Previous successful leadership experience is a plus
  • PC Literate: MS Office, CAD programs, Simulation tools
  • Strong communication skills are essential
  • High degree of engagement and accountability
  • Fluency in English is required ; German language minimum intermediate level
