3D Laser Scanning Technician

The 3D Laser Scanner will be responsible for capturing site conditions using lidar scanners and other photogrammetry equipment, perform scan processing, scan registering tasks and perform web viewer software related tasks back at the office. This opportunity is ideal for an entry level drafter/ designer who's interested in gaining more experience in the field.

About the Position:

Visit job sites such as petrochemical plants, architectural renovation and construction sites, and other commercial buildings to perform reality capture tasks using the lidar and/or photogrammetry equipment such as terrestrial scanners, mobile scanners, drones and Matterport cameras.
Set up job sites with targets, plan equipment placement and capture properties accordingly with the job scope demands.
Upon completion of reality capture, perform data upload, processing and registration tasks at the office using software such as Faro Scene, Autodesk ReCap and/or NavVis Ivion.
Manipulate web viewers to setup remote viewing by the clients
Archive/backup scan data after finalizing reality capture job scope.
Teach clients how to operate scan viewing software if needed via in person or web meetings.

Education and Experience:

Associate and/or Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field is preferred.
Previous experience with Faro Scene, Cyclone, LFM, Autodesk ReCap and/or NavVis Ivion is preferred
Previous reality capture and/or surveying experience is preferred.

Physical Requirements:

Must be able to walk with the equipment at client sites for an entire day when needed.
Must be able to climb ladders and stairs with the equipment when needed.
Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
Ability to carry 20-30lbs of equipment when capturing site conditions.
Ability to lift up to 60lbs to be able to put the equipment with the cases in and out of company vans and/or trucks.
Must possess a valid drivers license with no moving violations that would prevent candidate from driving company vehicle
Candidate will need to pass background check to secure TWIC.
