CAI is seeking a Senior Data/SQL Server Database Analyst with strong skills in the Microsoft Data Analytics tools suite, including PowerBI and SSIS. The candidate must also have strong SQL developer experience and can quickly come up to speed on a complex database model and immediately contribute to development and support of MS SQL Server business-requested reports, extracts, loads, stored procedures, and interfaces.
This individual will be working with one of our government partners, who is in the process of modernizing their platform. Included in the modernization effort is a migration of technology from a locally maintained Oracle database to a SQL Server database resident in a Microsoft Azure cloud. We are seeking an individual who is a quick study and able to gain a deep knowledge of a COTS product's SQL Server database data models. The SQL Server data model is an integral component of a leading financially based COTS product used to process income tax. The product is Revenue Premier Enterprise (RPE)
Working in a very dynamic environment, you will have the opportunity to participate in the support of the new SQL Server platform. Additionally, building out new functionality on the new SQL Server platform will also be involved.
Leveraging your strong problem-solving and analytical skills, organizational abilities, and attention to detail, you will work with the client and team members to gather and validate requirements, validate designs, and develop database application solutions.
Specific responsibilities may include:
Create and maintain quality reporting deliverables using PowerBI
Create new and maintain/tune existing T-SQL queries and procedures
Create and maintain existing T-SQL based custom reports
Maintain and extend complex MS SQL Server data models
Create and maintain interfaces leveraging the Microsoft SSIS
Analyze existing T-SQL queries for performance improvements
Review and interpret ongoing business report and interface requirements
Create and maintain stored procedures
Strong analytical skills. Analyze existing data structures and queries and develop/update reports, queries, data loads, and interfaces.
Accurately develop T-SQL database queries, reports, data loads/extracts in a logical manner from scratch.
Minimum Background, Skills, and Competencies:
7 years of experience as a MS Server T-SQL Developer or similar role
Strong experience with MS Server Power BI
BS/MS degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related subject
A strong MS Server T-SQL developer who can quickly come up to speed on an existing and complex SQL Server database underlying a leading income tax processing COTS product
Extensive experience in all aspects of at least one of the following: T-SQL programming.
5-7 years of experience with SQL Server PowerBI
Extensive experience working with large sets of data and resolving data-oriented issues.
Extensive experience in tuning queries for optimal performance
Ability to work directly with business users to translate business reporting requests/requirements into a backend database design that clearly identifies database object impacts

Preferred Background, Skills, and Competencies:
Experience with creating interfaces using SQL Server Integration Services (SSIS) ETL Tool or another ETL product
Experience in data warehouse architecture / design / support
