Job Description

Our law firm client is seeking a Litigation Paralegal for their New York Office. The Litigation Paralegal will assist attorney(s) by providing clerical and research support services including document preparation and review; coordinating with clients; research and fact checking; and hearing preparation.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
Assist with document organization through various stages of litigation including document redaction, Bates stamping, organizing and tabbing exhibits, preparation of witness kits and trial binders with indices; assist with document productions.
Analyze client information to develop case chronologies
Participate in case teams, including attendance at all team meetings, creation of task lists and meeting minutes; follow up on action items and assigned tasks
Prepare of case chronologies
Review and assembly of documents to be used at depositions, arbitrations and trials
Assist with document productions, including review, organization and indexing documents produced.
Proofread, cite check, blue book briefs, Shepardize memoranda of law
Prepare affidavits of service and applications for pro hac vice admissions
Assemble exhibits to affidavits and memoranda.
Coordinate and participate in all tasks leading up to and during Trial including: organization of trial notebooks, mark trial exhibits, tracking trial exhibits and testimony.
Manage logistics of depositions and trial and court appearances
Order and summarize trial transcripts for appeal purposes.
Manage post-trial documents
Prepare for and attend depositions, hearings and trials: organizes exhibits, file exhibits and all other supporting documents. At trial, work with multiple stakeholders to assure that all logistical and case management needs are met; marks, organizes, and handle exhibits;
Review and monitor case dockets to identify, summarize, and circulate relevant pleadings and applications.
Perform other related duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
Bachelors degree with a minimum of 3+ years experience.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Superior proofreading and research skills including electronic research using Westlaw and/or LexisNexis.
Excellent time management skills with a proven ability to meet deadlines.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
Ability to maintain confidentiality, and to exercise discretion and good judgment.
Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software.
