Job Description
We are looking for a senior tableau developer to create and maintain Tableau dashboards, and to create business intelligence visualizations serving the business and IT teams within the Department of Education. It is a long-term assignment with the ability to work remotely. The right candidate will manage the lifecycle of Tableau analytics dashboards, including business requirements gathering, functional specification write-ups, preparing data sources, prototyping, development, quality testing, user acceptance testing, documentation, and maintenance. They will also create and maintain powerful dashboards, create action filters, parameters, and calculations for preparing dashboards and worksheets in Tableau. Will also design and implement processes and standards to aid in preparing data to be used as data sources for visualizations as well as dashboard update cycles and processes.
Roles and Responsibilities
Develop, maintain, and manage advanced reporting, analytics, dashboards, and other BI solutions.
Hands on with Tableau (dashboard creation, report authoring and troubleshooting, data source management).
Perform and document data analysis, data validation, and data mapping/design.
Fine-tune SQL Queries for maximum efficiency and performance.
Review and improve existing systems and collaborate with teams to integrate new systems.
Conduct unit tests and developing database queries to analyze the effects and troubleshoot any issues.
Create visualizations for the data extracted with the help of Tableau.
Manage Tableau Server and Administration.
Find the key areas of automation to make the business processes smooth.
Tableau Developer Requirements
8+ years of experience in enterprise BI development and data analysis.
5 years of hands-on experience with Tableau.
Extensive experience in developing and working Tableau driven dashboards and analytics.
Ability to query and display large data sets while maximizing the performance of workbook.
Ability to interpret technical or dashboard structure and translate complex business requirements to technical specifications.
Understanding of advanced calculations and statistical functions.
Strong understanding of SQL, relational database management system, data modeling, and normalization
Strong communication and collaboration skills.
Attention to detail and accuracy.
T-SQL knowledge is a plus
Education
Bachelor's degree from a recognized college or university with at least fifteen (15) credit hours in the field of computer sciences.
