Network Administrator - Full-time / direct-hire

Full-time/direct-hire, onsite with our client in Monroe, NC, with travel between local offices. Great work environment and benefits!

Target salary range ~ $60-75k

Supports and maintains network systems in the organization by providing installation, maintenance, troubleshooting and resolution of hardware, software, and communications issues as well as develops new system designs. In addition, this position maintains data centers and data wire closets across all locations.

- Supports data and voice network systems at all locations including communications equipment, cabling, and related infrastructure

- Assembles LAN/WAN equipment on computer systems according to established design specifications

- Monitors network systems to ensure they are available for business in accordance with Service Level Agreements

- Ensures the management of security for the physical networks

- Assists in the design of multi-server environments including IP address schemes, DNS, DHCP, etc.

- Configures and installs client and server network software for upgrading and maintaining network and telecommunication systems

- Troubleshoots and provides remedies to network problems for internal and remote users

- Recommends and installs upgrades and new applications and equipment

- Completes installation and swap-out of network hardware including routers, switches, and other communication gear

- Documents and maintains system configurations for disaster recovery

- Work outside of normal business hours (primarily in the event of an emergency or implementation of new systems/upgrades) and on-call support that may involve night or weekend coverage as assigned

Required:

- Bachelor's Degree (senior position), Associates (intermediate position)

- Three years of experience in networking and computer support, LAN / WAN technologies

- Three years of experience with designing and configuring wired and wireless networks supporting both open and secured access, and voice and video applications

- Experience maintaining network security through proper configuration of VPN and Firewalls

- Experience with TCP/IP, IP addressing, CIDR, Subnetting, VLSM, and Network Address Translation (NAT)

- Ability to design, set up and configure network switching and routing environments, for example trunking, VLAN, Inter VLAN routing, default routes, Policy Based Routing (PBR), STP, HSRP, VSS

- Working knowledge of Cisco routing, switching and VoIP

- Working knowledge of Cisco Call Manager, Unity Voicemail and Presence

- Working knowledge of Cisco ASA firewalls

- Working knowledge of structured cable systems including Category 5e/6 and Single-mode and Multi-mode fiber

- Knowledge of data center operations and best practices

- A customer-oriented attitude and desire to help others succeed

- Demonstrated effective oral and written communication skills

- Organized, detail-oriented, with a demonstrated positive and proactive approach in identifying problems, creating innovative solutions, and managing projects.

Preferred:

- CCNP or CCNA certifications

- Experience with the following:

- Cisco and Meraki Switching

- 802.1x protocol support and configuration

- Cisco ASA, ISE, Web Security Appliance, and Firepower

- Call Manager and Cisco Unity

- Wireless Lan Controller

- Visio network diagramming

- Unified Computing System (UCS)

- VMWare and Storage Area Network
