IT Business Relationship Manager

BorgWarner is seeking an IT Business Relationship Manager (BRM) in the Chicago region. The IT BRM will be responsible for partnering with key business stakeholders in delivering IT services and solutions. This person will report solid line to the regional IT BRM and dotted line to the plant manager(s) and will be responsible for developing relationships and actively engaging with the business in driving innovation and delivering IT value that is aligned with business objectives. This individual will also manage local IT budget and allocations.
From a regional perspective, you will collaborate with other BRMs and regional IT manager in creating and delivering an IT strategy that is aligned with the business priorities. Also, as part of a global organization, you will have opportunities to take on project based regional or global roles, those are excellent opportunities to expand your scope of work and develop your skills.
Key responsibilities
Manages expectations and communication with business stakeholders
Develop, maintain, and communicate an IT roadmap that is aligned with business goals and has demonstrated business value associated with each activity
Manages local budget and cost effectiveness of their area of responsibility
Planning, scheduling, directing, and coordinating resources and activities to meet business requirements and project completion dates
Advises business on how to maximize IT investments and identify opportunities to leverage IT globally/regional
Identifies opportunities for business operational efficiency and drive to specific metrics for business cost saving and value creation
Remains abreast of industry trends in business and technology, uses knowledge to drive innovation
Works closely with the IT Service Delivery Manager on ensuring business IT infrastructure needs are being met
Partners with IT service areas (SAP, business applications, Data Analytics, etc.) to deliver operational improvements and solutions to the business
Collaborates with other BRMs on sharing best practices and helping to develop and implement a regional IT strategy that is aligned with business priorities
Minimum Qualifications
Bachelors degree in IT, Engineering, Business, or another relevant field
3+ years of experience in a BRM role, project management or system analysis experience
Demonstrated experience in delivering IT solutions that generate business value
Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with others, from the shop floor to department managers and VPs.
Ability to provide IT solutions that meet the business needs while staying within budget and often rapid timelines
Excels in interpersonal, oral and written communication skills
Results oriented with strong problem solving and analytical skills.
Preferred Qualifications
5+ years of experience in a BRM role, project management or system analysis experience in the manufacturing industry
Familiarity with Agile methodology
ERP (SAP) knowledge and experience
Experience in Shop Floor Digitalization / Industry 4.0
Solid team/project management, organizational and leadership skills.
Ability to work with minimal supervision
Demonstrated ability to prioritize multiple projects, work under tight deadlines, and handle changing priorities
Knowledge and experience with IT controls and governance
Strong PowerPoint skills
