Job Description


Our Client is an acquisitive, established/entrepreneurial, Life & Annuity carrier that is planning to go public. The carrier encourages associates to take a holistic view of the business and because of its mid-size, associates get involved in much and become part of the fabric of supporting the continued scale up of this carrier while coming away with a real understanding of how the business works. The carrier, through its member companies and agent/broker distribution network has over 250,000+ policies, provides $13+ billion in coverage and is A rated. Their mission is to provide their customers and their families life insurance, asset accumulation and supplemental health products to help them achieve their goals.


The Position: Manager of Financial Planning and Analysis


Job Summary:


Reporting to the CFO, the Manager of Financial Planning & Analysis will be a key position in preparing the carrier to go public and will be part of a Finance department that is responsible for decisions around strategic capital deployment, expense management, tax, treasury, audit, rating agency processes as well as finance board presentations.


Major Duties and Responsibilities:



  • Support Expense and capital management to greater proactive stance



  • Focus on SEC readiness for MD&A and future road show presentations

  • Assist the rating agency prep and relationship management

  • Help map out plan vs actual presentations that contextualize the drivers across key metrics

  • Help build out better contextualized Board & Audit Committee Decks

  • Assist in developing Financial Supplement for 144A/IPO readiness

  • Assist in developing Future deck for investor relations

  • Improve Rating agency decks

  • Ad-hoc Decks for Debt providers

  • Other presentations as needed.


Job Qualifications:



  • Undergraduate degree in accounting/finance required

  • Certified Public Accountant or MBA with 5-8 + years of Financial Reporting and FP&A experience

  • Reinsurance and experience with previous growth companies in life and annuities products preferred

  • Proficiency in GAAP public MD&A requirements a plus

  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to work effectively with various stakeholders, including senior management, internal functional partners and counterparties

  • Organized, reliable, detail-oriented, and motivated to support teams in delivering timely results and quality work products.

  • Entrepreneurial and growth mindset, with a bias towards action and details
