Job Description:

*Job Summary* The Senior Accountant, Financial Reporting will be responsible for producing the companys monthly business review package, including monthly financial results by division and country, causes of change (i.e., variance analyses) for actual results as compared to budget and last year. The Senior Accountant, Financial Reporting will also be responsible for completing the monthly G&A expense review process, with detailed analysis by division and department. As part of the monthly G&A review process, this person will work with various lines of business to identify and record necessary accruals. This individual will work cross-functionally to inform management of significant variances to budget or last year. *Core Values* Promote the mission of Global and conduct oneself in accordance with Globals core values. The employee will be required to perform other duties as requested, directed or assigned. *Job Duties and Responsibilities *include the following but is not limited to*: * * Complete and produce the companys monthly operating review (MBR) package * Develop detailed cause of change analysis for actual results vs. budget and last year. The cause of change analysis will be completed for the month and YTD for all divisions, states and countries (approximately 40 total). * Conduct a monthly G&A expense review process * Complete project-based analyses as required for select expense accounts * Effectively present business results and plan performance to leadership, providing insights and analysis of performance drivers * Lead development and implementation of appropriate analytical tools and data to drive improved growth and margin improvement * Maintain financial security by adhering to internal accounting controls * Protect organization's value by keeping information confidential *Education and Qualifications: * * Bachelors Degree required; Accounting/Finance/ preferred * Minimum of 5 years experience in corporate accounting * Must possess strong quantitative and analytical skills combined with solid business and financial acumen * Detail-oriented professional * Excellent verbal and written communication skills. * Strong relationship building skills * Must be an excellent team player who possesses solid interpersonal and organizational skills * Flexible, orientation coupled with solid multi-tasking abilities * High energy level; strong work ethic * Experience with NetSuite a plus * Public accounting experience a plus *Competencies: * * Microsoft Excel advanced level in data connections and formulas (including macros, pivot tables, and lookups) * Financial Management Job Type: Full-time Benefits: * 401(k) matching * Dental insurance * Disability insurance * Flexible spending account * Health insurance * Life insurance * Paid time off * Parental leave * Vision insurance Physical Setting: * Office Schedule: * Monday to Friday Supplemental Pay: * Bonus pay


Job Duties



  • Reconciling the companys bank statements and work with Financial Statements

  • Completing analysis of the General Ledger

  • Managing income and expenditure accounts

  • Generating the companys financial reports using income and expenditure data

  • Keeping a check on the companys finances based on financial status

  • managing financial and accounting software used by the company

Education


The Accountant position requires a bachelors degree in finance, accounting or any other related field. A masters degree is an added advantage. New graduates with relevant internship experience will work well in entry-level roles. For senior levels, certification and relevant experience in a managerial position is an added advantage.

In the absence of a bachelors degree, some certifications can suffice. A Certified Public Accountant (CPA) is subjected to thorough training that involves a specified number of hours doing coursework, practical work and written and oral examinations. Other certifications include Certified Management Accountant and Certified Financial Analyst (CFA), among others.



Accountant experience requirements


A successful candidate should have experience with accounting and financial software and should stay up to date with current trends. Expert-level knowledge of working with spreadsheets is crucial. Experience with word processing software is essential for generating and writing reports for record-keeping as well as presentations.


Other experience requirements that Accountants should have include management of company finances and drawing up a budget based on income and expenditure accounts. Experience conducting internal and external auditing is an added advantage. Working experience with general ledger functions is required.
