JOB DESCRIPTION


Superintendent is responsible for leading, managing and monitoring the successful execution of projects on time, within budget and safely with oversight of foreman, trades and subcontractors on water/wastewater, federal and/or other heavy industrial facility construction/renovation projects, and in conjunction with the project team.

Project, recommend and review labor needs Motivate, engage and mentor teammates Supervise Foremen, trade crews, and subcontractors for execution of project Work with Project Managers, Project Engineers, and Foremen to facilitate and coordinate construction project plan, ensuring all preconstruction and construction submittals and documentation are provided to client timely Actively participate in turnover meetings as required in order to understand the overall project approach Participate in the implementation of a Rapid Deployment Program Work with team to identify safety risks and project approach to create a plan, ensuring safe execution of work, and provide continuous safety oversight and enforcement Work with project team to develop a project schedule Coordinate with project team to ensure all required subcontractors and vendors are under agreement timely


Wastewater treatment experience required



Interpret contract drawings, specifications, and submittals
Work with project team to establish, maintain, and track adherence to project budget
Ensure proper oversight and retention of documents relevant to project Monitor and track timely fabrication and delivery of products and equipment Keep accurate notes, records, sketches, daily reports, and field books to describe and verify the planned work; as well as the completed work that will be incorporated into the project's record documents Research and recommend solutions to drawing interpretation problems, conflicts, interferences, safety, budget, schedule, technical conflicts, quality control issues, and client and teammate satisfaction, along with input by the project management team Project, encourage and monitor actions of self and team to ensure a positive image on behalf of All other duties as needed and assigned by management Core Competencies Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing Strong commitment to safety, the team environment, customer satisfaction and quality control Prompt and accurate judgment with the ability to troubleshoot and solve problems as they arise Excellent time management skills Proven ability to excel in a fast-paced environment Supervisory Responsibility This position is responsible for the oversight of other teammates
Position Type This is a full-time, salaried exempt position Travel Travel is primarily local during the business day, with occasional out of state and overnight travel. Less than 20% travel expected
Education and Experience Bachelor's Degree in Civil or Mechanical Engineering, or Construction Management preferred Five years of experience as a Superintendent on similar projects, preferred Experience with project planning and scheduling, contracts, and project controls and procedures preferred Experience and/or background in civil engineering disciplines, water, wastewater and heavy industrial process systems highly preferred Intermediate use of entire Microsoft Office Suite required
Work Environment/Physical Demands
Ability to lift a minimum of 50-60lbs
Ability to stand for extended periods of time, and safely maneuver around the nearby presence of various construction equipment and vehicles, on an active construction site
Prepared to regularly encounter moving mechanical parts, high precarious places, fumes or airborne particles, and a variety of outside weather conditions
Able to climb temporary or permanent stairs, and ladders
Able to bend, squat, kneel, crawl, crouch, balance and stoop, reach on a regular basis
Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus
