Job description:
Analyze clients' needs to design, develop, implement, and evaluate world-class learning/education solutions for the training organizations within the Utilities Industry. Work with client's subject matter experts and designers to establish project goals, develop project plans, monitor progress towards plans, and evaluate results.
Responsibilities:
- Manage the end-to-end design and development of learning solutions, from initial scoping to final learning product release.
- Utilize adult learning principles and innovative methods in the conception, design, and development of learning assets.
- Review learning solutions against outlined learning objectives, firm brand standards and (Continuing Professional Education (CPE) requirements to translate business content into learner-centered experiences.
- Design and revamp both new and established learning models by implementing feedback from reviewed content.
- Consult and collaborate with subject matter professionals on course design and development.
- Analyze and apply trends and best practices in learning technologies and instructional design.
- Provide exercises and activities that enhance the learning process.
- Create supporting material/media (audio, video, simulations, role-plays, etc.), especially technical and content writing.
- Devise modes of assessment, such as tests or quizzes, to measure the effectiveness of the course
- Maintain project documentation and course folders.
- Effectively communicate and deliver training material to all stakeholders (internal/external).
- Train team/faculty on how to learn and retain material.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university with a focus in Instructional Design, Educational Technology or related discipline (required).
- Master's Degree Instructional Technology, Educational Psychology, Adult Education, Communication or a closely related field preferred.
- Minimum two years of recent experience in instructional design and learning asset materials development; preferably from a professional services firm.
- Expertise in eLearning authoring tools and other software for Instructional Design work (e.g., Articulate 360, Captivate, Adobe Creative Suite, etc.) at an intermediate level.
- Strategic thinking skills with the ability to ask the needed big-picture questions that lead to process and team improvements.
- Strong organizational, communications, relationship, and project management skills, with the ability to meet tight deadlines, manage heavy workloads and prioritize tasks; ability to work with cross functional teams and leaders at all levels.
- Ability to thrive and adapt in a fast-paced and evolving environment.
- Advanced ability to communicate information and ideas so others will understand. Strong communication skills are required for writing/editing training materials that are clear, concise, and grammatically correct.
- Current on emerging training and transfer of training methodologies with the ability to apply these developments in instructional design and related fields.
- Self-starter who can work with limited supervision. Must be able to work independently and in a team environment.
- Knowledge of media production, communication, and dissemination techniques and methods. This includes alternative ways to inform and entertain via written, oral, and visual media.
- Proven experience with technical and content writing.
