Medical Lab Technician

MARS Solutions Group is looking for an experienced Medical Lab Technician for a client in Chicago Illinois. Shift: 8hr Evening Shift (40) Shift Start Time: 1400 Weekend Rotation: Every weekend Holiday Requirements: Yes-as needed Floating Requirements: NA Patient Service Area (PSA): Central Chicagoland JOB DESCRIPTION Start date to be determined at time of offer; can start prior to start date listed if cleared by complaince. Alternating weekends and holidays required. Minimum experience: 18 months First time traveler: yes Mandatory skills: Performs laboratory testing of biological specimens in an acute setting in any/all specialty areas using manual or automated techniques Report timely and accurate laboratory results Perform, evaluate and monitor lab tests as authorized within established protocols Evaluate results for clinical significance, validity and appropriateness Perform and document calibration and maintenance of instruments and equipment. Recognizes indicators of test and/or instrument malfunction and makes basic corrections as prescribed Provide general direction, training, competency review and technical I assistance to medical laboratory technicians, phlebotomist and support staff. Performs specialty testing in areas including transfusion services, microbiology, chemistry, hematology, histology, coagulation and flow cytometry. Mandatory Equipment: Equipment varies based on site. They will have training and be signed off on site. EMR: EPIC and Safe Trace (For Transfusions) MUST HAVE: AA and Medical Lab Technician cert (ASCP/BOC/AMT) Experience with: Chemistry- Dimensions EXL Hemo- XN 2000 Coag- CS2500 Blood Bank- Vision Micro- Cepheid **ASAP START!!!
