We at NIRx Medizintechnik GmbH are looking to hire an organized, resourceful, and highly-motivated professional for the new position as Senior Optoelectronics Engineer (Scientific Software) in Berlin. We are looking for a team player who shares our passion for science, biomedical instrumentation and neurotechnology.
Tasks
- You will design and implement innovative high-precision opto-electronic hardware for brain imaging using diffuse optics in the near-infrared range (fNIRS).
- You will work with an interdisciplinary team of engineers and optical physics and closely collaborate with our software team and product design team.
- You are involved in requirement specification, implementation, test/validation and optimization of existing and new optoelectronic measurement instruments in NIRx product portfolio
- You will work closely with NIRx s Scientific Director of R&D, the Software Team Lead, the Product Design Team Lead, and our development teams.
- Your perspective is to take over the lead of 2-5 developers (technical supervision).
Requirements
- M.Sc. or Dipl.-Ing. in electrical engineering, embedded systems engineering, opto-physics or similar.
- More than 4 years of experience in development of optoelectronics.
- Strong competence in the development of optoelectronic circuits and layouts from circuit diagram to pilot series (experience with Pulsonix, Altium, Eagle, LT Spice or similar).
- Hands-on mentality in dealing with electronic components from soldering to handling the oscilloscope.
- Sound knowledge of microcontrollers, microcontroller periphery, and mixed-signal circuits is a plus.
- Proficiency in ANSI-C / C++ for firmware, Python 3 (scientific ecosystem numpy, scipy, pandas) and LabView is a plus.
- Good team-working, collaboration and communication skills, positive attitude .
- Independent, goal-oriented and structured working style. You take ownership of you work.
- High English proficiency, German is a plus.
