Who we are:

DUDE CHEM is a fast growing Green Chemistry startup with its origins in the German Cluster of Excellence in Catalysis at the University of Technology Berlin. We are dedicated to fulfil our mission: Based on the 12 Principles of Green Chemistry we aim to build a green chemical-pharmaceutical industry. The industry currently consumes >13% of all fossil resources, most of them during the manufacturing. Our aim is to change this.

In order to achieve this goal, we have built a strong IP portfolio and validated the tech onto the market in order to reduce or reuse expensive resources in the production of chemicals and pharmaceuticals.

We believe that digitalization can be an integral tool for the implementation of greener, more sustainable production processes.

This is why we combine both scientific disciplines digitalization and sustainability in all of our projects. Over the last years, our team has proven that our approaches work and created hard competitive advantages in the core of the value chain of their customers.

Why we need you:

We have recently secured our 1st financing round (Frontline Ventures, Auxxo Female Catalyst Fund, Octopus Ventures). Many customers are approaching us in order to get our support and help them to outsource in a more sustainable and controlled way. Thus, we need your help to support us in preparing our growth. Our CEO Sonja Jost would like to delegate to you as much as possible. Sonja is one of the most renowned chemistry entrepreneurs in Germany. High level politicians as well as C-level executives from international corporations are seeking her advice. As an innovation expert in the industry as well as in tech transfer from scientific institutions, she writes guest comments for some of the biggest German newspapers (Wirtschaftswoche, Handelsblatt, Frankfurter Rundschau).

If you are interested in becoming her right-hand and in learning how to build a completely new industry, you are the perfect match for us!

Tasks

Results we expect:

• Create investor updates, articles, pitch decks, speeches, conference submissions, presentations, etc. on behalf of the CEO.
• Learn from our CEO how to negotiate and prepare contracts in order to support her in the best way.
• Ensure upcoming meetings of our CEO are relevant, well structured, and prepared sufficiently. Ensure action points are coming out of meetings.
• Evaluate data and create reports on key metrics.
• Relieve the founders from operational and administrative work.
• Conduct market research to identify new business opportunities and client leads.
• Support in new lead generations.
• Execute your own special project based on researching and analyzing commercial opportunities and additional revenue streams.
• Screen for appropriate programs and manage applications for grants/ prizes.
• When necessary: delegate work to external support and coordinate the collaboration with virtual assistances, agencies, etc.

Requirements

Skills and attitudes that might be helpful:

• Excellent organizational and time-management skills.
• Firm knowledge of handling Microsoft templates in Word, Excel, PowerPoint.
• A good eye for visualizations.
• Outstanding capabilities to summarize and simplify complex topics and translate them into action.
• Excellent writing, oral communication, as well as presentation skills.
• MBA or a corresponding degree. Basic understanding of technical and/ or sustainability language or quick in grasping new stuff would be helpful.
• Hands-on attitude: we will happily clean your coffee cup if you forget it will you have a problem in doing the same for us?

Unfortunately, we neither are able to pay you Google salaries, nor are we able to pay them to ourselves. However, we will do our best to consider your individual needs and the specific circumstances you are in. Additionally, we have established a stock option pool for our employees and you will get 28 day holidays per year on a 100% position as well as a ticket for the public transport in Berlin.

For sure, we also provide you with organic fruits, snacks and non-alcoholic drinks in our office in Berlin Mitte. Coachings and job relevant trainings are supported as well. We take the health of our employees very seriously and apply strictly 2G+ rules in our offices and labs. We encourage remote work but we aim for regular personal meetings as well.
