IoT Full-Stack Developer (f/m/d)

FYTA is on a mission to change the way we connect to plants. We create cool and intuitive products for a new generation of indoor gardeners and push the boundaries of what indoor gardening means today. We are devoted to creating new experiences in indoor gardening including everything from house plants to mushrooms and microorganisms. In our work, we unify interdisciplinary backgrounds such as software and hardware engineering, plant science, data science, design, business, and sustainability to achieve this goal with a diverse team of people.

We are launching our first product the FYTA Beam, the world's firsts AI-driven IoT smart plant sensor - in early 2022. Our product portfolio will be expanded into an IoT and E-commerce ecosystem covering all user touchpoints from plant to App.

We are looking for an experienced full-stack developer with a passion for building sophisticated serverless applications. In this role, you will work on advancing our IoT sensing solutions for indoor gardening, supported by our amazing team of frontend developers, designers, data- and plant scientists.

Tasks

You will have a direct impact on FYTA core products by designing and building products. Your responsibilities will include:

Develop awesome backend applications with JavaScript / node.js

Take part in all steps of building our serverless systems - plan, develop, deploy, and maintain

Improve and further develop the current deployment pipeline and infrastructure AWS CDK and CloudFormation

Maintain, monitor, and improve existing services, libraries, and infrastructure

Write code and tests, build prototypes, solve issues, profile and analyze bottlenecks

Focus on quality of code through proper testing and developer experience for other team members

Requirements

Skills we appreciate and would help you do great work in your role

• University degree in Computer Science or related subjects. But we honestly care less about formal education and degrees and more about talent, aptitude, and experience. Dazzle us with your work!
• Experience implementing or designing highroad, event-sourced or event streaming system
• Experience in working with IoT core applications including MQTT, device certification, OTA
• Experience in building serverless applications on AWS including services: Lambda, SQL, node.js, S3, CloudFormation, SQS, DynamoDB, RDS, API Gateway, and others
• Expert understanding of common software engineering practices (git, unit testing, code documentation, continuous integration, dependency management)
• Knowledge of CI/CD
• Good understanding of Secure Coding practices including common encryption (AES, RSA) and hashing (SHA) algorithms
• You are curious, analytically minded, and have structured work habits
• You like to take responsibility and initiative
• You work comfortably in a rapid prototyping environment with minimum guidance
• Get-things-done mindset: You are flexible and understand that working in the start-up means that you need to think and act like an entrepreneur, and pro-actively collaborate in an agile work environment with other team members
• Fluent in English
