Category Manager - Asian

We are Spice Village, one of Germany s fastest growing International eGrocery stores. We are going through a major revamp and are expanding aggressively to various segments and markets in the EU. We sell high quality international food within the EU and are looking to grow our products, infrastructure and team.

Tasks

Job Responsibilities

• Shortlist and select products from our range of suppliers in EU and Asia.
• Obtain a deep understanding of products from East Asia (Thailand, Vietnan, Japan and Korea)
• Manage a portfolio of suppliers within the category, driving supplier development by setting strategic goals, fiercely negotiating business terms and reviewing performance
• Develop and manage category strategy in alignment with Spice Village business goals
• Analyze supplier and category performance to determine tactical next steps and strategic vision for your team and internal counterparts
• Negotiate frequently with existing suppliers to optimize performance and cost base, including everyday pricing, annual incentive programs, advertising programs and promotions
• Identify commercial, operational and merchandising opportunities for the category and collaborate with internal teams to drive change
• Collaborate across departments to drive category goals, including Supply-Chain, Pricing, Merchandising, Supplier Operations, PR, Customer Service and Business Intelligence
• Coordinate with IT, Operation and Logistics to ensure all products are properly representated across all channels
• Set selling prices and offers based on the selling channel and stock availability.

Requirements

Requirements

• Minimum 2 year experience working in purchase or operations
• Excellent excel skills
• Basic financial modeling skills
• Fluent in English ; German is a HUGE plus
• Based in Berlin and have a valid working permit
