Job Description

Job Overview

Assisting the IOCC, maintain a Flight Watch, which is an extension of the process of operations control, which requires the individual to be more proactive. Active monitoring by the Flight Follower personnel, of all things which may affect the planned completion of an enroute flight, allows up-to-the-minute tactical planning and assistance. It also allows the Aircraft Commander to inform the IOCC of changes of intention such as, for example, an intention to land at an alternative destination for technical reasons, so that the IOCC can make appropriate handling arrangements and seek clearances.

Key Responsibilities

  • To monitor all Flights, which include, schdule, non-schedule ad-hoc/charter routes for compliance, flight monitoring and use of dedicated communications system (voice or electronic) to provide critical assistance to the flight crew in the event of an in-flight emergency or security issue, or upon request from the flight crew
  • Communication of all available and relevant safety information to the flight crew
  • Manage Flights globablly [pre tactical] and mission support [tactical] Operations for all flights
  • Liaise with Air Traffic Control Authorities, AOCC / JCC [as applicable] and IOCC for expediting operational support and organizational support whenever necessary to accomplish a mission safely and efficiently
  • To update MOC with operational impact due to weather forecasts, severe weather systems, and Volcanic Ash Advisories, affecting routes and airports, so as to alert internal stakeholders and recovery plans if necessary
  • Notifying the appropriate ATS unit when the position of the aircraft cannot be determined by an aircraft tracking capability [Aircom server], and attempts to establish communication are unsuccessful
  • Any other duties as assigned by MOC


Requirements

Skills & Attributes

  • Comprehensive knowledge of Civil Aviation Regulations, requirements, and procedures [e.g., DGCA, IATA, EASA, ICAO]
  • Ability to communicate- both verbally and in writing
  • Ability to work under general direction with minimal supervision
  • Ability to conduct risk analysis
  • Good team player
  • Ability to work under pressure

Work Experience

  • 1-2 years of experience in Flight Operations or exposure to IOCC is desirable

Qualification

  • Graduate from a recognized university
