IT Accessibility Practice Manager

Reporting directly to the President, theIT Accessibility Practice Manager will be a key player within the company, andmust be able to demonstrate advanced knowledge of Section 508 and WCAG Accessibility assessments and testing.

This role is responsible for the successful delivery of a portfolio of consulting services and product implementation projects.In this role,the selected candidatewill work with our client s product development teams consulting on establishing an accessibility practice within their own QA environments.Selected candidate willwork with other team members andbe part of a cross-functionalservices team, to support allaccessibility consulting andmanagement level criteria. TheIT Accessibility Practice Manager must be deliveryand efficiency focused, with the ability to manage all aspects of a consultingproject to includerequirements analysis, bid and proposal development, resource planning, process improvement, talent management, and customer relationship management. This is a Full Time remote/DMVhome office position with some travel to the Corporate offices in Sterling, VA and to clientsites as necessary.

Position Requirements and Responsibilities:

• Expert knowledge and experience with assessing conformance to Section 508, WCAG 2.0/2.1/2.2/3.0, and DHS Trusted Tester requirements.
  
• Knowledge of 508/WCAG requirements for IT software and hardware.
  
• Ability to conduct quality control and quality assurance reviews of compliance documentation, such as Accessibility Conformance Reports (ACR), Voluntary Product Accessibility Templates and other compliance reporting mechanisms (e.g., Accessibility Conformance Report Tool)
  
• Identify and clearly document accessibility issues.
  
• Identify and clearly document remediation recommendations.
  
• Knowledge of HTML semantics/tagging, hyperlink integrity, and remediation of Section 508 accessibility issues.
  
• Ability to perform audits, and validation testing on documents, websites and hardware.
  
• Knowledge of and ability to use Assistive Technologies, such as screen reader software (JAWS, WindowEyes), and Accessibility test tools.
  
• Write detailed findings to document identified issues and recommend potential solutions and best practices for remediation of accessibility violations.
  
• Ability to develop and deliver informative and useful high quality outreach/educational presentations.
  
• Become expert in IT accessibility and help evangelize our standard processes, tools, and guidelines
  
• Help develop, cultivate, and manage client relationships.Develop, manage, and maintain current marketing and outreach activities and coordinate with internal and external customers.
  
• Perform quality control to ensure expected standards are maintained.
  

Education /Training Requirements:

• U.S. Citizenship is required.
  
• Applicants selected will be subject to a security background investigation and may need to meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information.
  
• Technically proficient (and professionally certified) in IT Accessibility. Knowledge of Section 508 requirements for IT software and hardware (Flat Screen Smart Televisions ; Knox Enterprise software; Tablets; Watches;Chromebooks; Laptops; Connected appliances, etc.)
  
• Experience coding accessible web pages using HTML and CSS.
  
• Experience testing native mobile apps for accessibility
  
• Can write accessibility recommendations for remediation
  
• Excellent written communication skills for heavy documentation; verbal communication skills for training and development.
  
• 3+ years of project management experience; Experience working effectively with several clients or project teams simultaneously in a fast-paced environment
  
• Demonstrative ability for customer acquisition process
  
• B.A. or B.S. in computer science, information technology, human computer interaction, or related field preferred.
  
• Willing to work in a small business environment. This will include great customer service and relations, technical selling , marketing (writing social media posts/articles, etc.), pricing, technical and price proposal development, QA/QC reviews of our customer deliverables, occasionally pitching-in to conduct some of the technical assessment work, leading online (and sometimes in-person ) meetings, managing technical staff, and managing this services line as a profit/loss center (so, financial responsibility) and other duties, as assigned
  
• Willing to occasionally work weekends and to monitor and respond to customer email inquiries both during normal business hours and after hours
