Position: New Product Introduction - Build Engineer

Role Purpose:
The Manufacturing Engineer works within the Operations organization to establish and maintain a complete Manufacturing System of people, process, information, equipment, and infrastructure that enables the manufacturing plants to produce product without disruption.
He/she will lead and/or participate in activities to research, develop, implement and maintain methods and processes used in the manufacture of product for all RA manufacturing plants.
The Manufacturing Engineer will actively work in both the central office and local plant environment to collaborate with Design and New Product Producibility engineers to achieve optimum product design for manufacturability, define and lead projects to improve process, safety, quality, delivery and productivity performance at the manufacturing plants, develop and maintains process design and control documentation, and drive process standardization and governance of process change control.
Works on issues of diverse scope where analysis of data requires evaluation of identifiable factors. Exercises good judgement in selecting methods and techniques for obtaining solutions. May lead small special project teams within or external to the immediate group.
Key Responsibilities:
Coordination of project timeline and tasks related to the launch of a new production line.
Execute key project tasks.
Provide updates to project plan based upon schedule changes and on a normal cadence
Provide hands-on support to existing proces
Skills, Knowledge, Experience and Education
Bachelors of Science degree in Industrial/Mechanical/Electrical Engineering, or equivalent degree or education.
Experience in plant / process design layout and simulation.
Experience in SAP ECC
Demonstrated lean thinking related to process
Demonstrated understanding of New Product Introduction process
Good understanding of Manufacturing Process
Self-directed and able to adjust to changes in priority and scope
Proficient using Microsoft Office program
Temperament
Ability to manage multiple tasks related to rework and production processing of products.
Ability to communicate with data and options related to schedule changes to higher level stakeholders.
Handles roadblocks / impediments to current project timeline with alternative based / growth mindset thinking.
Information Processing Capability (Factors of Complexity)
Works with some direct supervision
Works on issues of diverse scope where analysis of situation or data requires evaluation of a variety of factors, including an understanding of current trends in the business and operations
Accepts Role Requirements
Ability to flex schedule based upon machine moves / installs / process run-offs.
Willingness to be hands-on in a manufacturing environment.
Key Performance Metrics
Early build of Production system to enable Development builds during design phase on the Production Line
Create Documented Work Instructions (DWI).
Coordinate prototype and pilot build and evaluation activities.
Ensure compliance to all production environmental, health, and safety req
Facilitate troubleshooting process findings and observations for final acceptance of all new
assembly processes
