Lactation Nurse Arabic Speaker to be Based in Saudi Arabia

Our client a premier medical facility is currently looking for a Lactation Nurse to be based in Eastern Province Saudi Arabia. For this role you will have the following responsibilities:

• Identifies changes/problems in breastfeeding/lactation and intervenes promptly and appropriately according to lactation standards.
  
• Responsible for conducting hospital rounds to evaluate mothers and infants needs as they relate to breastfeeding and the initiation of lactogenesis.
  
• Develops feeding plans to address the nutritional needs of the infant that may include but is not limited to breastfeeding support breast pumping support and supplementation as appropriate.
  
• Provides direct lactation care using advanced lactation knowledge and skills to assess plan implement and evaluate neonates and their families.
  
• Plans teaches and evaluates breastfeeding and pregnancy wellness for expectant mothers.
  
• Assists with training and precepting of staff nurses lactation team members other health care providers and students.
  
• Provides verbal and written information to parents about breastfeeding.
  
• Educates mothers in the use of electric and manual breast pumps and provides information on storage and transfer of expressed breast milk.
  
• Develops and promotes a comprehensive evidencebased lactation program at the facility.
  
• Provides coordination and leadership support to all maternalnewborn lactation program.
  
• Willing to work in inpatient and outpatient settings.
  
• Possesses effective counseling skills when interacting with mothers/families and healthcare providers.
  

Requirements

To be considered for this role you need to meet the following criteria:

• A Bachelors Degree in Nursing is required.
  
• Must be eligible to take the SCFHS exam.
  
• Preferably with valid SCFHS Nursing Specialist/Technician license/certificate.
  
• Current licensure as a professional registered nurse.
  
• Proficient in English
  
• BCLC certification required. IBCLC (International Board Certified Lactation Consultant).
  
• 25 years experience in an acute care setting as a lactation consultant.
  
• Must have working experience in leading BFHI successful accreditation preferably in the GCC area.
