Accountant

Job Summary:

We are seeking a detailoriented and experienced Accountant to join our finance team. The accountant will be responsible for managing and maintaining accurate financial records preparing financial statements and ensuring compliance with accounting standards and regulations. This role requires a strong understanding of accounting principles excellent analytical skills and the ability to work independently in a fastpaced environment.

Key Responsibilities:

• Financial Reporting: Prepare and maintain accurate financial statements including balance sheets income statements and cash flow statements ensuring they comply with GAAP.
• General Ledger Management: Maintain and oversee the general ledger ensuring all financial transactions are accurately recorded and reconciled.
• Accounts Payable & Receivable: Manage accounts payable and receivable processes including invoicing payments and collections.
• MonthEnd Close: Perform monthend and yearend closing activities including preparing journal entries reconciling accounts and generating financial reports.
• Budgeting & Forecasting: Assist in the preparation of annual budgets and financial forecasts and monitor actual performance against budgeted figures.
• Tax Compliance: Prepare and file tax returns ensuring compliance with federal state and local tax regulations.
• Audit Support: Assist with internal and external audits by providing necessary documentation and explaining financial transactions and records.
• Financial Analysis: Conduct financial analysis to identify trends variances and areas for improvement and provide recommendations to management.
• Internal Controls: Develop and implement internal controls to safeguard assets and ensure the accuracy of financial data.
• Compliance: Ensure compliance with company policies accounting standards and regulatory requirements.
• Process Improvement: Identify and recommend process improvements to enhance the efficiency and effectiveness of accounting operations.
• Collaboration: Work closely with other departments to ensure accurate financial tracking and reporting.

Qualifications:

• Education: Bachelors degree in Accounting Finance or a related field. CPA certification is highly preferred.
• Experience:
  • Minimum of 35 years of accounting experience preferably in the agriculture or manufacturing.
  • Strong knowledge of accounting principles and practices.
• Skills:
  • Proficiency in accounting software (e.g. QuickBooks SAP Oracle) and advanced Microsoft Excel skills.
  • Excellent analytical and problemsolving abilities.
  • Strong attention to detail and a commitment to accuracy.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines in a fastpaced environment.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to collaborate effectively across departments.
  • Knowledge of GAAP and other relevant accounting standards.
• Preferred Qualifications:
  • Experience with ERP systems.
  • Familiarity with industryspecific accounting practices and regulations.
