Job Description:
The Bookkeeper will be responsible for managing our financial records ensuring accuracy and compliance with industry standards. This role involves handling a variety of bookkeeping tasks to support our agricultural operations.
Key Responsibilities:
- Maintain accurate and uptodate financial records including ledgers journals and accounts.
- Process accounts payable and receivable transactions ensuring timely and accurate payments.
- Perform bank reconciliations and credit card reconciliations.
- Prepare and post journal entries.
- Assist with monthend and yearend closing processes.
- Generate financial reports including balance sheets income statements and cash flow statements.
- Handle payroll processing including calculating wages taxes and deductions.
- Monitor and report on cash flow and budgeting activities.
- Conduct regular audits to ensure financial accuracy and compliance.
- Assist with tax preparation and filings.
- Communicate with vendors and customers to resolve billing and payment issues.
- Support the preparation of financial statements and other reports for management review.
- Maintain and update fixed asset schedules and depreciation records.
- Assist in the implementation and maintenance of financial policies and procedures.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent; Associates degree in Accounting or related field preferred.
- Proven 2 years of experience as a Bookkeeper preferably in the agricultural industry.
- Proficiency in accounting software (e.g. QuickBooks Sage etc.) and Microsoft Office Suite especially Excel.
- Strong understanding of bookkeeping and accounting principles.
- Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.
- Strong organizational and time management skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Excellent communication skills both written and verbal.
- Ability to handle sensitive information with confidentiality and integrity.
- Familiarity with agricultural industry financial practices and regulations is a plus.
