Job Description: Senior Accountant/Tax Specialist
Job Overview: We are seeking a Senior Accountant/Tax Specialist with a strong background in accounting and tax returns to join our team. The ideal candidate will have the ability to train others take on challenging projects and potentially bring in their own business through networking. Our ultimate goal is for the candidate to grow with the firm and eventually become a partner.
Key Responsibilities:

Tax Preparation and Review:
- Prepare and review complex tax returns.
- Ensure compliance with federal state and local tax regulations.
- Provide tax planning and consulting services to clients.

Accounting Services:
- Perform accounting functions including bookkeeping financial statements and audits.
- Assist with forensic accounting and M&A projects as needed.

Client Interaction:
- Direct contact with clients to understand their needs and provide solutions.
- Participate in client meetings and discussions.

Training and Development:
- Train and mentor junior staff members.
- Develop and enhance critical thinking and management skills.

Business Development:
- Network and bring in new clients; receive 17.5% commission for new clients (35% for two years).
- Engage in strategic planning for the firm's growth.

Collaboration and Teamwork:
- Work closely with partners and other staff on various projects.
- Foster a teamoriented environment and contribute to the firm’s inclusive culture.
Qualifications:
Compensation and Benefits:
- Commission: 17.5% for bringing in new clients; 35% per client for two years.
- Pay: 25% of billable hours in direct pay.
- Work Hours: Flexible work hours with peak times requiring extended hours (8:30 AM to 8:30 PM during tax season).
