Job Description |
Position: Education Specialist Location: Lancaster CA Job Overview: The school is seeking a dedicated and experienced fulltime Education Specialist to join our team. The successful candidate will provide individualized instruction and support to students with autism spectrum disorders (ASD) ensuring a supportive and effective learning environment. The Education Specialist will collaborate with educators therapists and families to develop and implement educational programs tailored to each students unique needs. Key Responsibilities: -
Instructional Planning and Delivery: - Develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs) for students with ASD.
- Design and deliver engaging differentiated lessons that meet the diverse learning needs of students.
- Utilize evidencebased teaching strategies and interventions to support student learning and progress.

Assessment and Evaluation: - Conduct ongoing assessments to monitor student progress and adjust instructional strategies as needed.
- Prepare detailed progress reports and maintain accurate records of student performance.
- Participate in IEP meetings providing insights and recommendations based on assessments.

Classroom Management: - Create a positive and structured classroom environment that fosters student engagement and success.
- Implement effective behavior management strategies to support positive student behavior.
- Establish and maintain clear expectations routines and procedures.

Collaboration and Communication: - Work collaboratively with general education teachers support staff and administrators to ensure a cohesive approach to student learning.
- Communicate regularly with parents and guardians regarding student progress and any concerns.
- Participate in team meetings providing valuable insights and recommendations for student support.

Professional Development: - Stay current with best practices in special education through ongoing professional development.
- Attend workshops conferences and training sessions as required.
- Share knowledge and expertise with colleagues to enhance the overall effectiveness of the special education program.
Qualifications: - Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Special Education or a related field.
- Valid California teaching certification in Special Education.
- Experience working with students with autism spectrum disorders or related developmental disabilities.
- Strong knowledge of special education laws regulations and best practices.
- Excellent communication interpersonal and organizational skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively as part of a multidisciplinary team.
