Position: Speech Language Pathologist

Location: Lancaster CA

Job Overview:The school is seeking a dedicated and experienced fulltime Speech Language Pathologist (SLP) to join our team. The successful candidate will provide comprehensive speech and language services to students with autism spectrum disorders (ASD). The SLP will work collaboratively with educators therapists and families to support the communication needs of our students and help them achieve their full potential.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Assessment and Diagnosis:

   • Conduct comprehensive assessments of students’ speech language and communication skills.
   • Diagnose speech and language disorders and develop individualized treatment plans.
   • Utilize a variety of assessment tools and techniques to evaluate communication abilities and needs.

2. Therapeutic Intervention:

   • Provide direct speech and language therapy services to students with ASD.
   • Implement evidencebased intervention strategies to address speech language and communication goals.
   • Adapt therapy techniques to meet the unique needs of each student.

3. Collaboration and Consultation:

   • Collaborate with teachers occupational therapists behavior specialists and other school staff to support students’ communication needs.
   • Provide consultation and training to educators and parents on effective communication strategies.
   • Participate in multidisciplinary team meetings and contribute to the development of individualized education plans (IEPs).

4. Documentation and Reporting:

   • Maintain accurate and confidential records of student progress and therapy sessions.
   • Prepare detailed reports and documentation for IEP meetings progress reviews and other evaluations.
   • Ensure compliance with all state and federal regulations regarding speech and language services.

5. Family Involvement:

   • Communicate regularly with parents and caregivers regarding students’ progress and therapy goals.
   • Provide resources and support to families to help them reinforce communication skills at home.
   • Involve families in the therapy process and encourage their active participation.

6. Professional Development:

   • Stay current with best practices and research in the field of speechlanguage pathology.
   • Participate in ongoing professional development and training opportunities.
   • Maintain licensure and certifications as required by the state and professional organizations.

Qualifications:

• Master’s degree in SpeechLanguage Pathology from an accredited program.
• Valid state licensure or eligibility for licensure in California.
• Certificate of Clinical Competence in SpeechLanguage Pathology (CCCSLP) preferred.
• Experience working with children with autism spectrum disorders or related developmental disabilities.
• Strong knowledge of evidencebased practices in speech and language therapy.
• Excellent communication interpersonal and organizational skills.
• Ability to work collaboratively as part of a multidisciplinary team.
