PURPOSE OF THE JOB:
The purpose of the job of a Publicity Officer is to manage and enhance the public image and communications of an organization particularly in relation to specific projects or initiatives. In the context of roads and infrastructure projects a Publicity Officer plays a crucial role in communicating project developments achievements and impacts to various stakeholders including the public media government agencies and industry partners.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Develop and implement communication strategies to promote projects and initiatives in the roads and infrastructure sector.
- Provide specialist communication services in support of project requirements ensuring that all communications align with project goals and objectives.
- Develop and maintain communication plans schedules and budgets.
- Coordinate and manage public relations activities including events press conferences and public meetings.
- Develop and maintain relationships with key stakeholders including government agencies community groups and industry partners.
- Develop and implement crisis communication plans to manage potential issues and mitigate risks.
- Provides specialist services in support of project requirements.
- Independently performs highly complex professional assignments demanding contributions calling for the application of specialized principles.
- Qualified professional who can manage and coordinate specialized activity discipline or team of moderate size and complexity.

KEY QUALIFICATIONS:
- BSc BEng BA or Equivalent candidate with more than 10 years experience in roads and infrastructure projects
- Minimum 7 years of similar experience.
- Strong communication and presentation skills.
- Proven ability to manage complex projects and teams.
