Job Summary

The IT Operations Manager is responsible for overseeing the daytoday operations of the organizations IT infrastructure ensuring the stability integrity and efficient operation of the IT systems that support core organizational functions. This role involves managing a team of IT professionals implementing best practices and ensuring the reliability and performance of IT services.

Key Responsibilities

  • Operations Management: Oversee the daily operations of the IT department including network management server maintenance and IT support.
  • Team Leadership: Lead mentor and manage the IT operations team including hiring training and performance evaluation.
  • Service Management: Ensure the delivery of highquality IT services to meet the needs of the organization and its users.
  • Incident Management: Oversee the resolution of IT incidents and problems ensuring timely and effective solutions.
  • System Monitoring: Implement and maintain monitoring systems to ensure the reliability and performance of IT infrastructure.
  • Maintenance and Upgrades: Plan and coordinate maintenance schedules upgrades and patches for IT systems and applications.
  • Security Management: Ensure the security of IT systems and data through the implementation of robust security measures and policies.
  • Disaster Recovery: Develop and implement disaster recovery and business continuity plans.
  • Vendor Management: Manage relationships with external IT vendors and service providers negotiating contracts and ensuring service level agreements (SLAs) are met.
  • Budget Management: Develop and manage the IT operations budget ensuring costeffective solutions and efficient use of resources.
  • Compliance: Ensure IT operations comply with relevant laws regulations and best practices.
  • Documentation: Maintain comprehensive documentation for IT systems processes and procedures.
  • Performance Reporting: Produce regular reports on IT operations performance identifying areas for improvement and implementing solutions.

Qualifications

  • Education: Bachelors degree in Information Technology Computer Science or a related field. Relevant certifications (e.g. ITIL PMP) preferred.
  • Experience: Proven experience in IT operations management or a similar leadership role. Extensive experience with IT infrastructure systems administration and network management.
  • Technical Expertise: Strong technical background with knowledge of network and server management virtualization cloud services and IT security.
  • Leadership: Demonstrated ability to lead and manage a technical team with strong leadership and mentoring skills.
  • Project Management: Proficient in project management methodologies and tools.
  • Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to communicate complex technical concepts to nontechnical stakeholders.
  • Problem Solving: Strong analytical and problemsolving skills.

  • Technical Proficiency: Indepth knowledge of IT infrastructure technologies and best practices.
  • Leadership: Strong leadership and teambuilding skills with the ability to inspire and motivate a team.
  • Service Management: Experience with IT service management frameworks and practices (e.g. ITIL).

  • Collaboration: Ability to work collaboratively with other departments and executive leadership.
  • Financial Acumen: Strong understanding of budgeting financial planning and cost management.
