Job Description:
As a DT Teacher you will be responsible for planning and delivering engaging lessons that develop students practical skills problemsolving abilities and understanding of design principles.
Key Responsibilities:
- Plan and deliver highquality DT lessons that inspire and challenge students.
- Teach a range of DT topics including but not limited to product design electronics textiles and engineering.
- Foster a supportive and inclusive learning environment where all students feel valued and encouraged to explore their creativity.
- Assess student progress through various methods providing constructive feedback and support for improvement.
- Collaborate with colleagues to develop crosscurricular projects and enrichment opportunities.
- Stay up to date with developments in DT education and industry trends integrating relevant advancements into the curriculum.
- Participate in departmental meetings parent consultations and school events as required.
Requirements:
- Bachelors degree in Design Engineering Education or a related field (Masters degree preferred).
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent teaching certification.
- Proven experience teaching DT at the secondary level with a track record of student success.
- Strong knowledge of DT curriculum frameworks and assessment practices.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to engage and motivate students of all abilities.
