Senior Structural Engineer

General Description of Role and Responsibilities:

The duties of the Senior Structural Engineer shall include but not be limited to the following tasks:

• Review the Structural drawings reports and specifications submitted by the Design Consultant(s) at each stage of the Design to ensure completeness correctness and compliance with the scope of work and agreement requirements.
• Carry out constructability review during the Design and modification stages.
• Review the Design Consultant(s) submittals in a timely manner and forward comments to the Design Manager.
• Ensure the Design Consultant(s) incorporates the comments raised from previous stages.
• Attend Technical meetings with the Design Consultant(s) and other Sub Consultants Contractors and Client Team.
• Review Contractor / Consultants proposed design organizations and related CVs and report to Design Manager on his findings.
• Coordinate with PMCs Document Controller and PMC QA/QC Manager to ensure that all Documents related to his discipline are properly controlled.
• Review any alternative to the Design concept submitted by the Design Consultant(s) prepare and submit a report including recommendation to the Engineering Manager highlighting advantages and disadvantages of each alternative.
• Review the materials proposed by the Design Consultant(s) and propose alternatives to improve the quality future maintenance safety and cost effectiveness.
• Review the change requests / variations submitted by the Design Consultant(s).
• Review Tender Documents to ensure completeness prior to issuing to Bidders.
• Participate in the prequalification of the construction contractors list.
• Review and reply to bidders clarifications and participate in issuing bulletins and attending Technical Meetings with bidders during Tender stage.

Qualifications Experience Knowledge and Skills:

• Relevant Bachelors Degree in Structural Engineering or other related field with a minimum of 10 years experience.
• Strong exposure on Large Hotel / Hospitality Projects.
• The ideal candidate will be proficient in English. Arabic language skills would be a plus.
• Ability to work with minimal supervision.
• Ability to analyze and solve problems.
• Skills in organizing prioritizing and scheduling personal workflow.
• Keen attention to detail.
• Responsible attitude.
• Selfmotivated and able to work as part of a team.
• Able to work well under pressure.
• Possesses a flexible approach to work.
