Position Summary:
We are seeking an experienced and highly motivated Tax Manager to join our finance team in Belgium. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS) Mergers and Acquisitions (M&A) Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) and transfer pricing. This role requires a strategic thinker with excellent analytical skills a keen eye for detail and the ability to manage multiple projects in a fastpaced environment.
Key Responsibilities:
Tax Compliance and Reporting:
- Ensure compliance with all local regional and international tax regulations.
- Oversee the preparation and submission of tax returns ensuring accuracy and timeliness.
- Manage and coordinate tax audits and inquiries from tax authorities.
Tax Planning and Strategy:
- Develop and implement tax strategies to optimize the companys tax position.
- Provide tax planning advice related to mergers acquisitions and other business transactions.
- Monitor changes in tax legislation and ensure the company adapts to new requirements.
IFRS and GAAP:
- Ensure compliance with IFRS and GAAP in all taxrelated matters.
- Provide guidance on the tax implications of financial reporting under IFRS and GAAP.
- Collaborate with the accounting team to ensure accurate tax reporting and disclosures.
Transfer Pricing:
- Develop and maintain transfer pricing policies and documentation.
- Conduct transfer pricing analysis and benchmarking studies.
- Ensure compliance with local and international transfer pricing regulations.
Mergers and Acquisitions (M&A):
- Advise on tax implications and structuring of M&A transactions.
- Conduct due diligence and integration planning from a tax perspective.
- Coordinate with external advisors and internal stakeholders during M&A processes.
Risk Management:
- Identify and mitigate tax risks associated with the companys operations.
- Develop and maintain internal controls related to tax compliance and reporting.
- Ensure proper documentation and support for all tax positions taken.
Team Leadership and Development:
- Lead and mentor a team of tax professionals.
- Foster a collaborative and highperformance culture within the tax team.
- Provide ongoing training and development opportunities for team members.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor s degree in Accounting Finance or a related field; Master s degree or professional qualification (e.g. CPA CA CTA) preferred.
- Minimum of 710 years of experience in a tax management role preferably in a multinational corporation or Big Four accounting firm.
- Extensive knowledge of IFRS US GAAP M&A and transfer pricing.
- Strong analytical and problemsolving skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Proven ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines.
- Proficiency in tax software and Microsoft Office Suite.
- ideally trilingual but at least Fluency in English and knowledge of Dutch and/or French also.
Work Environment:
This position is based in our Belgium office with a hybrid working model. Occasional travel may be required for audits training or corporate meetings.
